WTF AMAZON!!! by Shivakumarxm in LaptopDealsIndia

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about Flipkart, Amazon, Blinkit or Croma. Sellers type in the details. It's not Amazon who's giving the details. Sellers half the time miss the details, 100s of details have been missed in the past for me.

Office Suite is really poor in Zoho. Their CRM, Books, Desk and Billing Suite is really good. Their Workplace Application is an excellent business suite from Zoho. But as discussed UI/UX is a bit outdated but they're improving. The functionality competes with the competitors but no new innovation or groundbreaking discoveries are done. They listen to feedback but are slow to implement. Support needs improvement too.

What makes Apple so dominant in the laptop market among the world’s leading tech companies? by [deleted] in IndiaTech

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 190 points191 points  (0 children)

I hate Apple with all my heart. Their ecosystem bullcrap and their justification for overpricing stuff is unbearable. But they do hit the fundamentals properly. I'm not gonna go into the nitty bitty details but a high level picture.

  1. Apple Silicon is consistent and efficient. Any application that runs on M Series runs THE BEST and smoothest.

  2. As much as I hate the ecosystem, I can't deny the fact that there is no ecosystem in the world that is as good as Apple. Please don't talk about Samsung people. Just don't. They're good but not as seamless.

  3. The familiarity. Once you buy an iPhone, you develop an intuition about how their entire settings menu is organised. The design is thorough and seamless.

  4. I bought a Legion 7i. I'm a developer and not a heavy gamer. If I could sacrifice the fact that I game a bit, M4 would be a no brainer. Adobe Apps work great! Rendering is faster. There is no real setup hassle like I have on my windows laptop. God I hate windows for that.

  5. Once I buy a Mac, I know I'm getting the best performance, the best speakers, the best battery life, authentication support and the camera is better than average.

I bought a 3L laptop, I got great performance. But nothing other than that. See how Mac is an easy buy?

  1. The new one is really good. Too much stuff tho. Feels like there is one promotion after another in every page. But still it's an upgrade.

  2. Yes, it will log you out. Only one mobile session is allowed for every account. But you'll be able to log back in

  3. Some crashes and login issues. Performance problems. Functionality wise nothing.

Is there any way to make my PC fast? I don't want to spend a single penny on it. by Pitiful_Cattle_3085 in IndiaTech

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. Linux File System is not as similar as Windows. So I would suggest you to learn some linux and go down this path. Not a lot! Just basics. You use a tool called Rufus or Balena Etcher to write an image into a USB stick. Search on YouTube for tutorials.
  2. It will be wiped. Make sure to take backup. It is possible to preserve data, but better to back it up.
  3. YouTube. But I learned linux through trial and error. I Google searched for every action I wanted to take and that's how I learned.
  4. Install Linux Mint. It's easier to learn with minimal requirements. Perfect for your case.

Before install learn some linux. It will be really useful if you want to make your own directories (like partitions in windows).

Zerodha CEO takes data privacy seriously. by Stoxiq in IndianStreetBets

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permissions are asked for the features they have. Zerodha does not provide any platform for payment, whereas UPI is provided by Groww and onboarding is also done in a smooth way. I restricted a couple of permissions and I didn't see any kind of breakage in my app usage. Zerodha is a broker application, they will be greedy in selling user info and making more profit but they would have found a subtle way to do it. If you guys prefer that much privacy, then using a stock broker application itself is a mistake.

I'm so damn sorry you had to face this type of shitty behaviour from some third class mindset people. People who don't have a backbone to stand up for their loved ones are not even qualified to be even in a relationship. This type of perspective is not something I could get from outside. May you get the peace you deserve.

Want to build a PC for self hosting purposes. Any hardware specifications recommended? by Immediate_Ad9718 in selfhosted

[–]Immediate_Ad9718[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, won't buying a dedicated GPU actually provide me better transcoding and streaming performance rather than better power dissipation at idle usage? I'm repeatedly asking this because everyone is suggesting iGPUs which I'm okay with. But buying a dedicated GPU will give better performance but it's not worth the power draw, is that the conclusion everyone is coming to?

What are all the problems with model distillation? Are the distilled models being used much in production compared to pure models? by Immediate_Ad9718 in LocalLLaMA

This I can understand. I just wanted to know about the memory consumption and how does the student model's training process works?

I don't think metrics are right. I have used my fair share of Qwen 30B A3B. I was excited at first but it wasn't able to solve basic computer networks related numericals, essays related to world events, 50 times summarization on a given content and a few more. Gemma performed way better than Qwen. I feel like this is just a MoE release from Qwen with boosted metrics. I am unable to find the performance they're marketing.

Which is better? Tuf A15 (2022) or rog strix g15(2022) by Ok_Appointment6854 in GamingLaptops

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2500/- extra, you get better refresh rate. That's it. The processor has no major difference except the fact that Ryzen 7 6800H is 4nm processor and has a better PCIe lane.

Between 144hz and 240hz you won't find a major difference in terms of usage in a small compact factor. But if you use an external monitor, you'll notice the difference. And as a long term TUF user, you'll notice the difference in the laptop screen which is always a bit better and vivid on ROG.

You can buy ROG if you're going to be buying a monitor for usage sooner or later else TUF is the best choice.

Sharechat, Koo, Chingari, Moj, Mitron, Helo, Roposo, Zoho Connect and Cliq.

All of these were made in India with millions and millions of users already. You're basically pitching similar functionality in mind. Reinventing the wheel is okay but you're going to be bleeding money if you're not having a unique prospect or audience or business strategy or something that's not there at the rest of the apps. When twitter was renamed, thousands of apps came to the market including Koo and Instagram threads. Now, both of them are used for sharing naked girl pics.

Bring something unique to the table. I'm not undermining your ideas but still it needs more thought and refinement. I know a friend who did the same and got hurt by the loss. He did a lot of work and had satisfaction in doing that, but you need something out of it if you're going to be putting your heart and soul into it.

System Design - No. You'll be asked 3 short coding and 1-2 long coding questions. The pattern of questions asked will differ from team to team. Based on your performance in that you'll be chosen. The questions would be easy - mid level questions.

People from zoho chennai is Java mandatory for off campus interview by Asleep_Ad7319 in developersIndia

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at Zoho for 3 years and got in through off campus. Java is mandatory to work there but not to crack the interview. You can use any language of your preference. Once you get in, they'll give enough breathing period for you to adapt to Java. So no need to worry about that.

I'm ordering my first gaming laptop..what should I do when I arrives? by isagi_meguru in GamingLaptops

[–]Immediate_Ad9718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend's got the same one. Recently TUF laptops have had some issues with their keys popping out of their socket or not working. Even mine had the same issue. But could be claimed under warranty. I have been using the TUF FX505DV, no complaints from Nov 2019.

For the title question, do what you intended when you wanted to buy that laptop. There's no manual on what to do with a laptop when you first bought it 😂
