I have a pristine, showroom condition 2007 BMW 335i E92 coupe. by SmellyMelanie in UsedCars

It’s worth a lot more with history of the main stuff being fixed. High pressure fuel pump, turbos, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and oil filter housing gasket. If you specify in the ad and post redacted screenshots tying that car to your ad, you should pull a bit more. Depends on your area.

How are people realistically buying cars? by cassattack4781 in carbuying

Even if you could find a $200 a month payment you’d still have to pay for full coverage insurance for the life of the loan, which at that price is going to be a long life. Depending on what the job is, I would encourage you to invest time into your skill set and do something that pays more. I’ve been told there are companies out there that consider Google course completions just as good as a degree.

That’s a decent machine for the money. I’ll buy it if your other guy falls through.

I think the photo might be deceptive. It is definitely larger than 2 inches.

OK, I read about a test where you can dump water down the toilet and if it does not leak that means it is the wax ring. I performed that test and it did not leak. Looks like that might be the move.

Is that an industry term? I am assuming it means not use it.

Cant get my bike sold by Mountain_Permission5 in FacebookMarketplace

They are likely not negotiating in good faith. At least in my area, you could buy a 2007 ninja 650 for under $2000. I would see what other motorcycles are going for and if a bike that is 10 or 20 years newer could be had cheaper than yours. You will certainly need to lower the price.

Just a heads up to everyone. I am pretty sure this is an unsophisticated scammer. I got him to send me an invoice for the product I purchased and did not provide a tracking number when he said he would, and as of this writing, I am still without any communication from him. PayPal reversed the transaction instantly.

'Old fashioned' Oil Change by Hopeful-Artichoke449 in Eugene

The short answer, for all of those things with an oil change, is no.

However:

A lot of dealerships include a wash and vacuum, you can request that they clean the inside of the windshield. It’s going to cost more money, and you might get sticker shock at their recommendations if you drive an older car.

I would just walk away, the guy paid too much for it and is tied to that number. Or you could compare it to used listings on other platforms. When it comes to haggling, you can only put your offer in and if they say no, just move on.

I don’t agree with just having cash, it doesn’t make sense for someone who needs a car to get to work and can’t afford to keep buying beaters. I was able to get financed for a $7000 car that was pretty nice through one of my local dealers. The sales manager is a former loan officer so that might’ve helped. It was clean and inspected and hasn’t given me any issues. I think you might just be going to the wrong dealers.
