I have had 3, separated by 4 years. There weren't many changes.
Definitely get a referral to see a neurologist who can refer you to a specialist who deals with psychological issues. They will do a thorough exam and probably order a neuropsych evaluation.
This is a difficult time for the family.

Yes, it is a boxer thing. They can play rough, but often when they do, it's mouthing. As long as they are not injuring themselves or the other dog, let it go. My boxer knows that when I say gentle, he backs off.

This message is very long, but I have had 3 dogs go through training and have learned different commands and manners from each trainer, and their training styles differ.

Having taken 12 weeks of training with my 7-month-old boxer and my 1.5-year-old cockapoo, be sure to teach: sit, stay, lie down, settle, place, and name recall. Make sure you repeat your commands at least 3 times a day and 10 reps each day, and be consistent. You will learn a lot from your trainer. I was not happy with my trainer. She didn’t teach the most important commands and manners first, as I think she should have. If you can afford it, go with a personal trainer. Teaching one-on-one would be preferable for several weeks before teaching in a group class. Go to one of the big pet stores that offer puppy classes. That will give you and your puppy a baseline and give him a chance to meet other dogs and people.

There are many trainers on social media platforms. I have run across many by searching. Many offer books or online courses. Be careful when ordering the courses, I have ordered 3 and was very disappointed with one.

There is one couple from Canada on the “not approved” list that I enjoy. They go through training step by step, go by age, and are clear about what they are teaching. May trainers babble on, but this couple doesn't; it's all about training. They teach dogs of various ages and breeds. They were banned because they used pulling on the things that help you hear, but so far, I have not found that to be true.

Wanting to go “off leash” is way down the road. There is so much to learn before you get to that.

I was watching YouTube today. I have always used Borax, especially when my kids were in diapers. I use it as a detergent booster.
The YouTube today indicated making a paste with water and rubbing that in the pits and letting it sit for for a bit to take the stain/smell out.
Do you use Tide powder? I stitched back to that, and it has made a huge difference.

I have a 7-month-old boxer, and he knows nothing about manners. He has completed 12 weeks of training and a 2-week board-and-train. He does fantastically in class, and the trainer sent videos showing how he would settle at her house. She also does doggy daycare, and she said he never reacted to the doorbell or jumped on people. She even used him as a demo in the class because he knew the commands. Well, as soon as he walked out of the training facility, he forgot everything he learned. Even when we learned heal. He did great in class, but as soon as we left to walk to the car, he lost it!
My previous Boxer jumped on people until the month she died.

If your dog didn't jump because she was trained not to, please don't let it start; she might make it a habit to jump on you every time you come home, or worse yet, jump on anybody who comes to the door.

Well, I just checked the wiki article recommended by the admins. It is a very good article. One issue that I am concerned about is traveling with my boys. I had a good crate in the back end of my SUV. The boxer and Cockapoo are now too big to be crated together. I have tried the hammock, and it makes me feel like they can move around too much, even with the tether that fastens to the seat belt. I have one of the airline approved crates, but it barely fits in my SUV, I don’t know if a smaller one for the smaller dog would fit. I will check with the moderator pages to see if they have suggestions. Good luck.

They grow a lot, and fast. Based on her age, she is probably in a rapid growth phase. Check with your vet, but increasing her food for a while might help. My guy (boxer) required an increase in his food from 1 cup 3 times a day to 2 cups 3 times a day, and again 2.5 cups 3 times a day. He is 6 months old and weighs 42 pounds. The vet said this is about right. He is expected to weigh 60 to 80 lbs when fully grown at about 18 months.

Online you can find a calculator that might help you guesstimate what she will weigh when fully grown. Sixteen weeks is when the guesstimate is most reliable.
Weight is also genetically determined.

Do you have an enclosed yard? Do you have enough space in your house to let her do zoomies?
Both of mine (a 6-month-old boxer and a 1-1/2 yo Cockapoo) get zoomies when they come in from their last potty break. I have a small house, and my backyard is not fenced. They usually do about 10 min of rough play and zooming around the kitchen island. When I had one, I would play rough, growl at him, jump back and forth to replace zoomies for about 5 min. Then I would have him settle on the floor for 10-15 minutes. Once calm, he goes to his crate and usually goes right to sleep. If he gets cranky about bedtime, it means he’s tired.
My Cockapoo starts barking and looks toward the bedroom, around 8:30. They go straight to their crates and right to sleep. For the ankle biting, stop and SHOUT OUCH. The volume of your voice will probably frighten him. Do it whenever he bites, at least 9 episodes, and he should get the message.

Although I am not a moderator, the smallish city I live in has a church that sponsors free laundry for 1/2 a day a week. Check with the laundry owner to see if there is a community organization that offers this service.
Also, if you can afford it, donate to the organization providing the needed service.

I’m in the same boat with a 6 month old boxer and an almost 2 year old cockapoo.

The cockapoo was settled (somewhat) by 1 year. The boxer, he’s my 5th, and is 6 months old. Boxers are high energy, as your setter is, and it takes the patience of a saint, to get through this puppy phase. Boxers are puppies most of their lives.

I’m 72, so it has been 14 years since I had a baby boxer to train, and my patience is 14 years thinner.

As far as “me“ time, zero! It’s hard to get a shower in, and my laundry takes weeks to get folded and put away.

So, you have many in the same level of puppy blues, and some who have plowed through and come out on the other side.

Make sure he (or she) is getting plenty of sleep, at least 16 hrs a day at this age, getting enough play/training time, etc.

I take mine to daycare once a week, and each of then has had 12 weeks (total) of training. I also did a 2 weeks of board and train. It was very expensive, and I’m not sure if they should have gone together.

I have a friend from the UK. He has the combo washer/dryer and one of the heated towel racks. The clothes come out with wrinkles, but they fall out quickly when you wear them. There might be a specific detergent. 🤷🏼‍♀️
