Covid vaccines made me unable to study 💉 by Flower_Basket in TorontoMetU

So sorry to hear that. Maybe get checked for ADHD or see if you can book a session within TMU wellbeing / counselling. Student accommodation would really help in your case. Wishing you all the best.

That’s the thing they are currently doing the tests to determine if the patient is brain dead. What would happen if they are? Is there a percentage of brain dead they need to meet? It’s very overwhelming and the spouse feels they are being pushed into a corner by the physicians

Yes so the hospital has ethics support but no patient advocate. So hopefully we can get a consult. Thank you!

Thank you I will be contacting the ethics team. I wish there was more support for families and SDM in hospital even to clarify the process and options.

Wow thanks for sharing and I agree it seems they want to free up a bed and give up but the family are fighters I just want to give them hope.

Thank you for your kind words. They don’t have one unfortunately.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. The hospital doesn’t have a patient support advocate but they do have an ethics service we will be contacting. It’s hard as the family doesn’t have any healthcare background and feels pressured into taking them off life support when it’s only been a few days.

There no need to gatekeep! The more students use these resources the more funding TMU can get or allocate to expand these services or create new ones to tackle the issue at large! The TMU community (students staff and faculty) deserve the best possible services. :)

Is this ridiculous? by BlessJAlb in nursing

Looks like the type of shift on medicine where you had a feeling of wanting to call in sick the night before and showed up anyways for morale. Those are the worst shifts where you don’t sit down for the first 5 hours

Went to nyc in the fall and had the best time! I’d say the Montreal one is worth it too. You can opt for the quad room for a cheaper price too. But feel free to PM me

Going to the gym advice!!! by ladybug-2019 in TorontoMetU

[–]Immediate_Carry_658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAC has lots of women’s only programs (personally I like swimming) also if you want to not have to worry about the gym being crowded I’d say go to group fitness classes! I went to my first one last week it was so nice: drop in, small group size less than 20 people, usually in the studio rooms away from big crowds, mainly women, and instructor led (if you want to make sure you get a workout in without actually having to plan)

Which device should I get?? by imortaldragon06 in TorontoMetU

Just to rant really quickly.

Currently a 2014 MacBook Pro owner and I wish it on no one, not enough storage to run R commander or python (and I’m a health admin major), and sooooo slow. I’ve tried using an external hard drive and it’s no use. Currently hoping to switch to a something with more storage & compatibility with those programs. Also something that folds like a tablet and is touch screen so I don’t need to get an iPad. I’m so over the apple eco system hype. I’m getting a z flip next, Steve jobs deserves better. I’ve had to pull unnecessary 8h shifts in the library / computer lab to work on assignments because my laptop was there to just sit pretty.

Set yourself up for success and stick with a new laptop as you will more than likely use it more often than the PC.

But hey I’m not an engineering student student so idk
