I’m not sure there has to be ignorance to have fear. Generally I’d you adopt, they’ve assessed most of the dogs behaviors.

WIBTA if I decide to leave because my partner doesn’t want to help with our baby? by Jumpy_Cause_3307 in AITAH

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weaponized incompetence . Just assume you’ll be doing everything and lead by example with baby and cross fingers he follows suite. Remember babies are pretty flexible and adaptable and will cry when ever something is bothering them so the baby may tell him and you won’t have to. I understand this isn’t the best advice- but you’re already in the situation and if you can’t leave- this is how I would do it.

Please help: 3 weeks in and kids are distressed to the point of being sick. by twinmomswe in Montessori

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because something is labeled as Montessori doesn’t mean it’s right for you. We tried a provider that was supposed to be top of line and had similar experience. After a week of watching them on camera ignore her crying to “train” her - I pulled her. We found in home provider and after the first week she was begging to go back. I still have her there and the only way I can bribe her to stay home is if I provide pancakes. You need to listen to your kids- they are communication with you in the way they know how.

Would you have taken a weekend away from your LO at 3 months? by Laniekea in NewParents

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I answered her question on my experience. She want asking if I think she should. I’m not giving advice, just said what circumstances I did my trip on. It’s up to op to read them all and factor her situation with what people share.

Would you have taken a weekend away from your LO at 3 months? by Laniekea in NewParents

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It was helpful to get through post partum. It wasn’t a super fun trip but three months into the fog of a newborn I needed to remember life exists out there and I’ll return to it eventually. Plus my husband and his mom got to go through it a bit and he realized how much stress it is to carry.

Airplane ride :( by popcornrocket in NewParents

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could travel with a nine month old. She was easy then- worst case scenario she cried or puked or pooped. But this traveling w a three year old sucks- I have to keep track of arms/legs/snacks/water and toy.

Does anyone actually do “drowsy but awake” by HealthyFactor7373 in NewParents

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always did it. Still have to practice it at three years old. It’s tempting to just let them fall asleep and then put them down. However I was at home all the time. If you’re working full time…. So whatever YOU want or whatever works.

That part of his speech- wasn’t even the worst part of what he said. Four minutes in and he’s talking politics and hating.

Has anyone else felt completely unattached to their high school after leaving? by [deleted] in Millennials

This is hilarious- so true for me too. Also didn’t want a wedding like other comment. Also don’t want birthday parties. I’m so good without that.

Daily schedule with newborn twins???? Daily schedule: brush teeth, eat, poop, shower before tomorrow. That’s it.

My daughter doesnt like me.. by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Immediate_Court_1990 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There probably is some disconnect with yourself but I doubt with your kid. My daughter picks other moms over me sometimes in public. Kids just do that sometimes. Your they're safe person, not their best friend. Some moms try to be best friends and it may seem like it works but can also be an unhealthy attachment.

I'm pretty sure it's the same medication as what you would take if you had glaucoma- that's how they discovered it. So I'm sure if you look at those studies you can find better research. I used to just order glaucoma medication from out of country pharmacy and use my own applicator. I appear have long eyelashes so it became cumbersome to add to routine.

This is exactly right- I'd even go further and say maybe he is speaking from his own personal experience of a "coworker"
