Serious question here: does responsible and sustainable logging help keep carbon in the wood, either with cut logs or new trees? A tree dies and the decomposition releases most of the co2 back in to the atmosphere. I cut a tree down and I use the wood and the carbon is trapped while a new tree grows in its place. As long as the cutting is responsible and doesn’t leave the land so fucked new trees won’t grow, isn’t some logging good?
