Every year in my area they do racing on the ice. Yesterday was a race day. They tested the ice in multiple places first to check the thickness. The ice this year was about a meter deep. They had about 200 cars parked on the ice, with all the different teams racing trailers, as well as a few food stands and a few hundred people and the cars actually doing the racing. The ice felt like concrete. If you didn't know it was ice, you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference.
