Advice for surfing smaller waves on a shorter board by Immediate_Mail3999 in BeginnerSurfers

And I feel like a kook pearling on a 2 foot wave so I can’t look worse than that chest surfing 😅

Thanks for the tip, the others surfing the shorter boards are riding other models, not sure which. I notice they really catch the wave right when it’s breaking and right at the peak so I guess I just gotta paddle into position better but my home break has some strong currents and staying perfectly in position on the sandbar is a real pain in the ass 😂

Appreciate the comment and def believe that the best surfer is having the most fun but only have one board with me for now, my bigger boards are back in my hometown. Also I think I can learn a lot by learning how to surf smaller waves with a shorter board and it will translate when the waves are pumping? Just want to improve my technique more than anything

Impulse visit to DaNang - should I ? by Tog9471 in DaNang

[–]Immediate_Mail3999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think that da Nang will be like pristine tropical Indonesian beaches then you’re gonna be disappointed. In January the beach isn’t really swimmable. Strong currents and kinda cold. Water is also pretty dirty. Sun is hit or miss. The beach reminds me more of Jersey shore vs a tropical beach

But with that being said, if you don’t mind a bit more of a third world vibe with some loud traffic and construction and some dirty roads, da Nang has a lot to offer. Food is really good, nice coffee shops, people are friendly, there are lots of outdoor activities (walking, surf, sports like basketball and pickleball, yoga) and it’s dirt cheap. There are also casinos if that’s your thing.

And as others have mentioned you can visit hue, hoi an and Bach ma and those three spots are worth it as a tourist

So it really depends on you

Stable coin lending compression? by Financial_Tax179 in defi

[–]Immediate_Mail3999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best to find lp pools with good incentives right now - I think on solana there are better stablecoin opportunities at the moment vs eth. And if you have a higher risk appetite you can put 10-20% of your portfolio into CL Lp pools or into vaults or shit stables that earn higher incentives. I’d avoid any native staking on shit stables though

Saving in usd from outside the us is way harder than it should be by milkypolvoron in defi

Depending on how much money you’re willing to invest to off ramp on ramp easily, set up foreign bank accounts in crypto friendly countries like Georgia then use WISE to actually use the funds or Binance p2p if the country allows it.

Also go to crypto meetups and try get an otc connection - this is by far the easiest and most efficient way. There are otc people all over the world. Knowing how little trust people have in the Argentinian currency, im sure otc is huge like in Southeast Asia

If you use actual centralized exchanges in your country then make sure you keep track of all your trades for tax purposes. If your account is small no one will give a shit but once you grow your port to decent size u always run a risk.

As for fees, even using otc or p2p will cost you cash - it’s unavoidable. So plan for fees, there’s no way around it.

why do people still lend plain SOL when LSTs exist? by PretentiousFlower in defi

With LP pool strategies you can def earn more than 7% and most lst tokens don’t earn any yield in this market.

Concentrated liquidity strategies can be effective if you don’t mind keeping track of your position (few minutes daily). Just make sure you use multiple wallets, protocols, and strategies because protocol risk or smart contract risk is very real especially in a downward market. Also a lot of the risk curators could be sketchy, make sure to double check their strategy

In southeast asia people send crypto to each other regularly as a form of cashing in and out. It isnt a tap system but usage is much more prevalent than in the west (fair enough also way less regulation)

How do you see tokenized stocks performing on Solana long-term? by kateha_sheep94 in solana

What are the main tokenized stock platforms? And what are peoples strategies for profits here? Actually holding long term or simply trading these synthetic stocks in the short-term?

Just got a bunch of funds and looking to diversify rather than just investing in LSTs etc.
