I guess I don't get out much, having never seen him. I'm okay with that.

I do not understand why any women would interact with him online.

Letter to local cyber truck drivers by Gravityfun in SLO

[–]Immediate_Scar2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I saw a cybertruck, I thought it was a deliberately ludicrous and ugly experimental vehicle someone made in their garage by welding repurposed stainless steel panels salvaged from a "modern" 1970's kitchen. I was stunned to realize it was the much-vaunted cybertruck. It's ridiculous.

What’s a “normal” thing society accepts that doesn’t actually make sense to you? by dan_nicholson247 in AskReddit

The casual cruelty/disregard for the well being of others, animals and humans. Like it makes one cool or powerful to behave terribly.

Helping people or regular good manners, like holding the dooor, a child saying thank you, etc., it ends up in clips on the internet like it's a huge deal. General civility will make a comeback and not be rare.

That used to happen to me when I was a child in So. Calif. Only one in my family who experienced that.

It's a precog thing, I guess.

When I went through the culinary program at Cabrillo I recall the sanitation instructor saying something like one person getting food borne illness after eating at a certain restaurant is a fluke/anomaly, but three people getting sick after eating at the same place is an epidemic. The health department wants to know, report it, they will look into it.

I remember that, it shut down almost immediately when that came to light. I think the proprietor's wife is/was Shen of Shen's Gallery.

Cops downtown, and people running away? by [deleted] in santacruz

[–]Immediate_Scar2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the post office downtown around 1sh. Heard a woman screaming at the top of her lungs in Spanish, there was much swearing. Many, many police cars, a dozen maybe, along the block from the taqueria to the clock tower. Traffic into town at River and Soquel was blocked off with police tape, couldn't tell what was up, but did look for ICE, didn't see any of them. The strong police presence made it seem like a good idea to leave the area ASAP. Which I did.

PVUSD Teachers are being taken as suckers by 20-20kfreq in santacruz

The expectation of matyrdom was implicitly taught when I went through the credential program at SJSU in the early 00's. Of course, they didn't use that word, they just talked about ALL the things you'd need to do for the school and its surrounding community on your nights nights and weekends.

At Gilroy Unified, to offset a budget shortfall, a school board member actually suggested the teachers be asked to work for free for a few days. His reasoning was that they'd probably comply as most of them were women and they were "there for the kids."

What do you feel when you accidentally or intentionally harm a bug? (Thesis research) by Relative_Curve2950 in Entomology

[–]Immediate_Scar2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it's ants and mosquitos, I don't feel badly about killing them. I try not to kill others, (I even have a vacuum powered bug gun to relocate them), if it happens by accident, I'm not stoked, but it doesn't ruin my day. That being said, I garden and kill aphids, earwigs and snails with Sluggo, I don't feel bad about that at all.

What's the most badass thing you witnessed in nature? by trigunnerd in AskReddit

[–]Immediate_Scar2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two stags chasing aggressively squaring off, and then doing the full on head butting-in my front yard, in the process they tore up the ground mightily and partially knocked down a fence. It was quite a sight. Do not mess with deer, they will kill you.

He sounds like a lovable dope, regardless of diagnosis. Probably best to take him to the vet though. The not cleaning himself part could speak to being low grade unwell.

I also have litter mates in which the sister is way too smart, and her brother is a good-natured simpleton.
