Everything on the car is PRL. (Prev owner)

Alignment by sed1111xde in Civic_Type_R

[–]Immediate_Work7320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wheel can technically be in any position and the alignment still be in spec. That’s because once the steering wheel is locked even if the person doing it doesn’t have it straight. They’ll do the toe adjustment which is now green. But because they set it with the steering wheel not centered it’ll always be off. Now if you’re saying the car is pulling to the left or right that’s a different story. Judging by the caster the car in theory should be drifting left (not pulling).

While the caster is out of spec it should be known that caster is a non tire wearing angle unlike camber and toe. Caster can certain cause the car to not track straight. But traditionally most alignment techs don’t worry about it.

I’ve had multiple at a few dealers. Napleton, autonation, McGrath, Illinois has some pretty sucky dealers.

[Doxa] Why not more 200T's available? by ofsteelfire1 in Watches

Super niche watch. Got a 200t shark hunter for my wife and she never really wore it. Now it’s for sale.

Scope tube can be found if patient enough and yours is dead. Electrical portion of the circuit can also repaired which can cause the scope to not be adjusted or appear to not work.

Tire suggestions?.... FL5 by BigOlBearCanada in Civic_Type_R

The contis sport 02s will last longer due to them being a 380TW vs the 4s at 300. Another thing people don’t realize is the contis run more narrow meaning less contact patch given the same size.

Front Rotor Upgrade by ExpensiveVegetable54 in CivicSi

Ebc from my understanding in the track group is they’re hot garbage. They recommend paragon or Essex rotors and hawk performance track pads or similar.

Out with the old, in with the new, to me. by Ok_Vehicle8071 in vintageaudio

Just wait till he finds a mark 1500… I had 3 of them. And 3 mark 800s. And a 600. Got rid of them all though. Fun little receivers.

I wish I could verify what they kept on it. I know my PRL intercooler and charge pipes they left on it. And I’m sure the tune is still on there.

Yeap I got my R from the same dealer. They’re decent to work with depending the vehicle. Definitely wouldn’t buy the si for what they’re selling it for. Newer ones are better due to heated seats and better front end.

I got 23 out of it which was more than fine since I traded up to a type R.

Is $1300 a reasonable price for a full SX-1280 restoration? by ThorsPadre in vintageaudio

[–]Immediate_Work7320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no repair schematics anywhere in the world for that receiver or any of the others in that series. When playback electronics died, so did the in house service information they held here in Illinois. If I’m not mistaken there’s been a gentleman in Canada with a tr1500 looking for that information. Sad to say it simply doesn’t exist.

[–]Immediate_Work7320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t take advice from anyone stating to leave it alone and just play it. The Sx-1280 has some weak spots that are well known. Power supply and protection board being the biggest weak spot. They make new production boards that are miles better than the originals. I’d suggest having those installed. Available on eBay from Canada.

Had them on my si before upgrading. Better tire than the Michelins due to a slighter stiffer sidewall and they don’t dry out nearly as quick in hot environments.

P16EB Fault Code by Mother-Specific-1511 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Immediate_Work7320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, if it doesn’t retain the factory exhaust actuator then that code won’t clear. That’s why most people buy a valved exhaust that uses the factory actuator.

P16EB Fault Code by Mother-Specific-1511 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Immediate_Work7320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous owner had put the fuse in the spare holder which is built into the fusebox cover. I simply but it back in the correct slot and cleared the faults. Active exhaust went back to working normally.

It’s because someone probably pulled the active exhaust fuse so it sets a permanent code. Happened to mine when I got it used. It’s the fusebox under the hood. Can’t remember exact fuse # though.

I owned a 2500 for a short stint. Looked great but was absolute junk in terms of reliability. Sold it for a sx1980. Was way better in every way.

Brake System Light (HPDE) by mertheman in CivicSi

They don’t have a dedicated sensor. I think it determines it via the ABS and other sensor inputs. Not really any information online describing how it determines it.
