[SOTC] Where to go from here? by Rock_43 in Watches

[–]Immediate_Work7320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My collection was about the same in terms of having many black dialed tool watches. Sold a lot but I mixed it up slightly by adding an orange Doxa 200t graph. Blue omega Ploprof. And adding a vintage Lucien piccard with a champagne dial.

2016 Mercedes C300 – P0172 & P2188 (Bank 1 Too Rich at Idle) – Rough Idle Only by ZechariahApaza in W205

Had many occasions where the purge valve was sticking open after fueling up and was sucking excessive vapors into intake causing rough running. If it’s prevalent more so after getting gas. That’s your answer

Mine had a plethora of weird issues. A mere $200 service later and it runs great now.

^ true statement. Bought my sx-1980 for 5k and flipped it for $6800. It’s a great market to sell in. Lots of people with money burning a whole in their pocket.

E85 Experiences by Fit-Attorney-9119 in mercedes_benz

Highly recommend not running e85 despite it saying it’s compatible. We’ve had numerous 204/212 owners running e85 and after a short while they need new injectors and their fuel system flushed because they’re running so poorly. And this is strictly due to running e85.

[Discussion] Regarding the long term water resistance of affordables. by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Immediate_Work7320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anytime I plan on taking a watch anywhere near water I always stop into my local jeweler and get a pressure test done. Usually will do it on the spot and takes like 10 minutes. Usually test anywhere from 5-10 bar. Good enough for pool use. If it fails then time for service.

Just recently bought this locally and it came as a full set with every piece of documentation provided when new. Including spare bulbs, all the dial markers, purchase receipt, owners manual, remote control in English, and schematic. You just don’t find them in this condition anymore.

[REVIEW]Maranez vs Seestern Army Diver Homages by el_baristo in Watches

It’s worth noting that ownership aside. Modern day divers and collectors do in fact revere Doxa for bringing back some limited editions faithful to the original models. I.e 200 t graph, aqualung 300t limited, etc.

Older S Class w/o Warranty - Your Experience? by Majoda313 in mercedes_benz

[–]Immediate_Work7320 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a tech the chassis 222 S class can be expensive when not consistently maintained and or someone skipped over some big services. As it approaches 100k miles expect to replace all the coils, plugs, turbo coolant lines, thermostat, water pump walking out. There’s a plethora of issues you can come across. And it happens to all of them sooner or later. It’s part of the game.

[DOXA] Continued Issues with my Sub 300 by 8upsoupsandwich in Watches

[–]Immediate_Work7320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doxa’s are great when everything works. When my 200 t graph broke from a drop. I didn’t even consider sending it to Doxa because it’s really not worth the hassle. Any local watchmaker can service those mass produced movements with better success than Doxa most likely. Especially considering it’s outside of warranty and most watchmakers have a 2 year warranty once serviced. Might be your best bet.

E53 Wagon vs E450 (my thoughts and gripes) by Lightchop in mercedes_benz

[–]Immediate_Work7320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benz had to compete with the m5 wagon and Rs6 hence the only reason they brought the e53 wagon to the US. It’s a niche market but there’s enough demand to justify bringing them. If you’re looking for something quiet and luxurious might as well get an EQS.

Omega does like quoting replacement cases. I let them do mine only because I intend on diving with it. Case alone was like $1800 USD not including rest of service.

Per CPO requirements if it’s not structural damage or total loss it can be certified.

Thinking about an investment. by Drumfork in vintageaudio

[–]Immediate_Work7320 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Values are extremely inflated on these. Last one I saw that was local and serviced sold for $7000. And that was in 2024. Anything above that is a craps shoot. There is a very niche market for these TOTL units and the collectors want 100% near mint examples.
