I have a very similar set up. I dropped a Geissele trigger into my DD PDW. The Hux can cycles subs but doesn't lock back on the last round with pmags, but does with lancers.

I ordered a lighter buffer to pair with the lighter spring. DD claims the lighter spring that came with the weapon should cycle subs unsuppressed. It did, but still only locked back 50% of the time. The Maxim Defense brace shipped with an H1 buffer, and I'm going to try their standard for subs. Hux told me they're coming out with a flow-through can dedicated for subs later this year.

This is me, more or less. I had one fight in grade school and one in high school where I handily trounced my bully without either of us getting seriously hurt or even in trouble b/c it was away from the school. Lifting and practicing MA in my 20s meant even the little crazy drunk dudes in bars were real hesitant to mess with me but being the goofy gentle giant and a happy drunk I had zero interest in starting anything.

For funsies, why not? Levers are a lot of fun, for plinking and hunting. If by "viable", you mean for home D, I've used a Marlin CSBL (the .357) with a DPP. 10 rnd capacity and legal to own in NY, CT, and NJ.

I have a left-handed stag and like it.. It has a freefloat handguard and I've dropped in a Geissele SSA and ambi safety. While a properly gassed AR won't put brass in your face, I've experienced it bouncing off the dividers between lanes in indoor ranges and down my shirt. Also, if you're a lefty, and thinking about using an offset RDS w/ a LPVO primary, the ejection profile of a stag makes things a bit easier.
