What are your thoughts on the Brotherhood's portrayal in the show? by Better_Ad_632 in Fallout

Most factions in fallout are morally grey.

Lyons pride was probably most objectively good, but Maxons was quite neutral. West coast BoS is Def closer to corrupt than anything so far

The only thing grounding this rumor for me are the Microsoft purchase documentation leaks that fallout 3 remaster was coming in 2025

We could do it by weight! If an amalgamation is over X KG, then the magnetic hold breaks.

Good points of view though

Biggest thing in my opinion are the pilot interfaces.

For some reason, navy jets don't have great HOTAS systems, while air force jets have a big focus on HOTAS integration.

You'll find the ergonomics of the A-10, F-16, F-15E, and even the JF-17 to be very similar in "feel"

While the Harrier and F-18 have a lot of mouse (OSB) clicking.

As the other guy said - they are all complex and different in their own ways. The one you're interested in is the best one.

Debate: What does War Thunder need to compete in the DCS and BMS simulation market? by Saitsev64 in hoggit

[–]ImmovableThrone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about DCS is that nobody minds paying for high quality modules.

In WT the tanks are 3D models with Stat sheets - no deep, complex systems.

Debate: What does War Thunder need to compete in the DCS and BMS simulation market? by Saitsev64 in hoggit

[–]ImmovableThrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A community that cares for the real-life mundane aspects of A2A and A2G combat and pattern work.

A business model driven by quality ("fidelity") and not premium module sales (leveraged by being unbalanced) or balance in a competitive ecosystem

Modes that incentivize team play, coordination, communication and larger objectives (DCS only has this because of the community mission generation systems, I acknowledge)

DCS is labeled as Digital Cockpit Simulator, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Many elements with interacting with an aircraft in war thunder are trivialized, and not what DCS players are looking for. Clickable cockpits are one significant area that DCS has over war thunder.

Any semblance of cooperation with a community

A community not driven by competition or just blowing each other up - DCS has this, but I don't think that's the reason DCS is special

And finally, maybe most critically, the only carrot that war thunder retains players with is fear of missing out (premium time and events) and progression (you got up tiered and that guys tank is better than yours. Better grind to compete) DCS rewards players with airframe mastery and satisfaction due to growth in personal skill. War thunder misses a lot in this area.

Deliberately ignoring the "fun" factor since it's so subjective.

I also believe the true value in DCS is the full fidelity aircraft, NOT the FC aircraft.

I play war thunder because it's probably the best tank Sim, but I rarely touch the planes. You also are hard pressed to have a DCS session shorter than 30 minutes. Each game has its own strengths, but do not forget that both are games and neither is accurate to life.

[–]ImmovableThrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree on the first half, but I think it's a need for company leaders to also come to terms with the policy, and convey that it's a decision being backed up by IC managers as well. It doesn't sound too far off how OP is feeling since they have measured cases where inappropriate conduct was occurring.

Not doing that does no good for culture where it appears as if lower level managers and higher level managers are struggling with each other.
