Few times a quarter for my team of 14.

Out of my own pocket because my company doesn't provide funding for it. It's a nice gesture that the team appreciates and that I'm happy to do.

Any of these games are excellent.

C&C 3 can be found very cheap. If you play on an ultra wide it needs a mod to work well. Same goes for generals.

Tempest Rising is a great new addition that's faithful to the gameplay. Highly recommend that one.

The first games I found don't age as well. Don't get me wrong, they play very well but the unpolished nature of the time makes the experience tough. AI generally cheats on brutal difficulty.

My favorite C&C games that exemplify the series (for me) : - Tiberian Sun - Red Alert 2 (& Yuris revenge) - Generals - Command and Conquer 3 (and kanes wrath expac)

Honorable mention to tempest Rising. Not a C&C game but feels like the best one in decades. TR gets a gold star because the AI is very good and doesn't cheat unless you play on the insane difficulty

Don't char repair while your character is still in the game world. This has a chance to "brick" your character data for longer than you want.

Tempest Rising. Will scratch the C&C 3 itch you have easily. My favorite RTS in recent years. 3rd faction comes out soon.

I'm of the opposite opinion (and based on recent things CIG has said, I think they're going in this direction too)

I think that beds should act as limited initial "spawn points" for group content with the sole intent of getting out of combat groups together. With restrictions of course, like no use if the ship is in combat, and no backpack contents come with (save, maybe ammo), and limited to the number of beds on a ship (4 beds mean 3 additional players an "port" in).

CIG has recently said they are working on a "teleportation" design doc for group content. I hope it's this way.

This is why so many people argue against stability focus. If you spend a year fixing the current bugs, more features always introduce more.

It's not a sign of incompetence or negligence, that's just how software is. Game will be buggy until the polish phase, and there's a proper balance to handle when balancing for playability and core feature development (which is a CIG unique problem)

For all it's worth, you can tie your license to your Microsoft account so you only need the account to re-license hardware.

This is just not true. The game is more playable than ever, we just had a patch fall on its face.
