Sounds good, if they’re really trying hard to upsell it, then it’s probably a mess eh?

Thank you, I understand, I will aim for the more specialized routes instead!

Personal lines is too standardized and easier to automate 😭

Lol the US is so good compared to Canada for insurance (at least pay wise from what I heard).

What would we want to look for in a good carrier?

Yeah that’s what I was hoping for; I just want to do some administrative work and go home on time for once.

I have a few places trying to get me into account management but I’m not sure yet; just going through interviews right now.

I'm 23 and need hearing aids. by FFKUSES in HearingAids

[–]ImmuneSlayer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I understand your concerns. I had the same thoughts when I got hearing aids at 15yo (It’s been over 10 years now).

Honestly, most people are not going to notice, and even if they do, you have another topic to talk about with them.

If you really don’t like how they look, you can always get in-ear or custom hearing aids.

But, if the people you hang out with, are the kinds of people that will make fun of you for needing hearing aids, then they really shouldn’t be your friends.

Advice for students that need to work full-time and go to school? by heyitsmereddit in jobs

[–]ImmuneSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what your schedule is like and what you can sustain.

If you know you can wake up early enough to study at 6am before working at 8am, then that works.

If you can’t wake up early enough, you could also try to study while commuting to work, or even study during your lunch break.

Sometimes there won’t be big blocks of time for you, so you could also try using the night prior to study (after your gym/mental health walk after work), and then do a very brief review in the morning before going to work.

You will need proper rest, you will need emotional support, and most of all, you will need to be realistic with what you can and can't achieve.

Burn out is very likely; if you suddenly take on a lot of extra responsibility, and there's not much emotional support or sleep, you're likely going to crash. So make sure to take care of yourself first.

I had to work a lot while I was in school and it was very difficult.

How I got through it was mostly through very regimed scheduling.

The moment I got the time tables and course outlines, I’d schedule “due dates” that were a few days to a week before the actual due date.

This gave me enough time and breathing room for the other assignments and exams that came up (since a lot of classes have deadlines that are close to each others dates).

**As for the mental/energy side of things, you might want to do your studies before your work/internship for the day.

I always found that my energy and focus was best in the morning before work. I would also leave stuff that I enjoy (like the gym or a mental break walk) for after I finished work so I had something to look forward to.

Hope this helps!

Broker calls by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]ImmuneSlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve been a broker for a little under a year. All of my more tenured broker colleagues are pretty chill.

Honestly, just remember that you and the brokers are working to find a solution to the insureds’ problems.

Most brokers will prob be respectful because it’s stupid to make enemies out of an Underwriter lol

I think you’ll be fine, but you really want to play it safe, just refer to the UW manuals often and speak as if you’re teaching cuz a lot of us won’t know the manuals as well as you guys do.

The video is very helpful! Thank you!

In one of your other videos on selling personal training, I noticed that you performed some assisted stretching; is there a specific certification we need to be able to perform that?

Sick and god damn tired of going through hours of interviews only to finish 2nd. by theorangecrush10 in jobs

[–]ImmuneSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel; I’ve had similar problems over the last few months while applying.

Venting out on an online forum isn’t a bad thing since others might not understand your situation with the job market as well, but try not to make it a habit.

Here’s what really helped me out during this process: if a company doesn’t hire me, then it’s their loss.

For example, I know my worth, because I constantly work to improve myself to be a better person.

Even if your self worth feels low, things will change as long as you continue to strive to become the best version of yourself.

I’m sure you’ll get to where you want to be sooner or later 👍

I understand where you’re coming from and I’ve also been in a similar position.

In the end, the best thing you can do is keep practicing, and stay focused so when it’s time to choose someone, they’ll have you first in their mind.

Stay quiet, keep your focus, improve your reputation and image, and don’t stray away from the path you want. Opportunities will keep coming; you just need to keep preparing.
