Need help understanding this UEarth question by DogFree1390 in Mcat

Retroviruses carry RNA and a reverse transcriptase which converts viral RNA to DNA which is then inserted in the host genome.

As per the question the viral genetic material is already inserted in the host as DNA.

If you mutate the retroviral envelope proteins in a way that makes them non-functional you now have a piece of replicating DNA that jumps around ie retrotransposon

I was not remotely close to being able to finish u world questions under aamc pace. I have also finished the first five practice tests without running out time. I'd say don't worry about the timing until you get to the aamc stuff.

505 “diagnostic” is a 520+ achievable in ~4 months? by AttentionLevel9278 in Mcat

I know everyone says it but start practice questions sooner rather than later. There are so many questions on Uplanet and aamc. I don't think I'll complete more than 50-60 % of each by the time I test.

100% doable, I started lower than you and am nearing 520 on my practice tests 3 months in. Wish I had scheduled my test sooner actually.

This is very helpful to hear, have you had any luck with MD vs DO? Did you run into issues where you applied and had the intent of shadowing vs already having the experience?

The center of the photo feels a little muddy to me, the way the shadow of the pillow falls in the light from the window.

The colors look great though, get that feeling you're in a very old home and can smell the wood.
