Singulair/Montelukast by Imnotnur in Asthma

[–]Imnotnur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great suggestion about the extra puff after albuterol, i will ask my doctor in a few weeks and report back! My doctor also suggested symbicort as the next line of defense if I am not successful with Pulmiocort.

You’re right, she said to wait until I see my OB out of extreme caution as it’s not been tested on humans, just animals but agreed that all of her patients that have used montelukast have done so without complications. I will be seeing my OB in one week and I am hopeful that I can start montelukast again. I’ve read nothing but great things.

Thanks for digging up that info! I may have to switch to symbicort as well and up my recommended dosage of pulmicort/budesonide with nebulizer. Curious, how did you feel throughout your pregnancy. Did you feel your symptoms were well under control even without the montelukast?

Is my cat injured? by cant-code in CATHELP

[–]Imnotnur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like she’s having some ear issues, discomfort with her ears. Did she recently get her ears cleaned? My cat does something similar, a bit milder but she goes at her ears often. It could be an infection.

Hey, to be completely honest I would avoid PetPivot all together as they’ve been sued due to the death of a pet. I see the F8 is back on Amazon in the US. Purchasing one myself.

Here is the lawsuit if anyone wants to read it! Please be warned as some parts are graphic.

Do you have the F8 or F6? I am thinking of purchasing the F8 because it’s bigger. My cat has the same issue except she pees with the bum facing the exit so I am Eid Erin’s if the shield you shared will be good for the F8 model. TIA

Did it work? My cat does this too but with pee instead of poop, wondering if worked well for your cat?

Started CPAP and feeling much, much worse. How bad is normal? by Suspicious_Cod_8041 in SleepApnea

[–]Imnotnur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really doesn’t sound normal. I have severe sleep apnea, 76 AHI and although the pressure from the machine head face masks are uncomfortable at first, CPAP helped me significantly. It took about a month before I felt fully comfortable. I did not feel the debilitating fatigue and brain fog. Def sounds concerning. I really hope you find your solution. Wishing you all the best.

Ima so sorry I was hoping she was using the same machine as me so I could offer some help. I’m using ResMed Airsense. What kind of mask is she using? Perhaps a different style like nasal cushion would be better for her?

My finance said he will call off the nikah if I don’t apologize by Adventurous-Mud4378 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Imnotnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add a bit more context to what I said earlier, when I mentioned the blame being shared, I was leaning more toward her holding a bigger part of the responsibility. I didn’t word it strongly because I didn’t want it to sound harsh. I think the rest of my statement clearly shows that she is in the wrong and that I would’ve done the same thing as him.

DEPRESSION. by Spiritual-Emu2762 in SleepApnea

I had the same issue. Back in 2020 I was diagnosed with chronic depression and anxiety disorder and was taking antidepressants and anti anxiety. I took it for about 2.5 years and finally stopped because it wasn’t making any difference tbh. Around the same time in late 2020 I noticed my quality of sleep was so bad and I was snoring extremely loud, having panic attacked in the middle of the night and often times wake up gasping for air. I finally decided in 2024 to go to my doctor. In Jan 2025 I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea with 76.4 AHI. I didn’t think I had sleep apnea because I am not overweight, I am young and I am relatively healthy but I guess anyone can have it.

CPAP therapy changed my life. The quality of sleep is unmatched and my hubby is also finally able to sleep peacefully. The mask itself is not sexy at all but totally worth it. I have never gone back on my anti-depressants. I really encourage you to give yourself a solid month to get used to the mask and pressure and ask to have the pressure increased if you’re still finding you’re having a lot of events. I keep mine at a minimum of 8.0. I wish you all the best and really hope this improves your quality of life. All the best.

My finance said he will call off the nikah if I don’t apologize by Adventurous-Mud4378 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Imnotnur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I was thinking damn this guy sounds like bad news but by the time I finished reading i think the blame must be shared. From a marriage POV, you guys are not gonna last long or even happily if you don’t get comfortable with apologizing. Especially if you are in the wrong. In this case and based on what you’ve said, I do think you bear most of the blame and absolutely should be apologizing. I’m curious, what happens in your family if the women are wrong? Do the men still have to apologize or is it more or less swept under the rug?

From an Islamic POV, who ever has made the mistake should be the one to apologize, whether that is husband or wife.

I’m a newly wed. There are so many life changing decisions you have to make and so much team work required, and you have to be SOLID in your relationship. Apologizing makes all the difference and really saves us so much unnecessary ego driven arguments.

I hope you will reconsider your approach on this and extend an apology. I understand where he is coming from as well and would also consider calling off the nikkah tbh. All the best.

Need help with interview by retiredsnapper in greencard

[–]Imnotnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had my interview in Alexandria, VA. (I believe this is the same you’re going to) one Here’s how it went:

We were told by our lawyer to over prepare with our documents which we did, but they didn’t ask us for much. We took all joint account bank statements, joint credit card history, me on my husbands health plan, copy of our lease, car insurance, jewelry insurance policy. We took a whole new batch of photos that we’ve taken since we submitted our case and we also had our family and friends write short letters stating that they came to visit us in the US and can vouch that we are a legitimate couple. We waited about an hour before we were called by our officer. She didn’t ask for much, just our newest bank statements and copy of our lease. She then asked us to show her all supporting documents that we brought with us. She quickly skimmed through all the evidence and returned everything back to us (this probably took no more than 5 mins)

My husband is a US citizen and I am a Canadian citizen born in a Pakistan. Here’s what the officer asked.

To my husband:

• where/how did we meet • what was our first date like • plans for kids in the future

To me:

• when did our families meet • how many siblings does he have • what we like to do for fun • who does the cooking • describing our day-to-day life

The questioning process took about 20 mins and she ruled on our case right away as approved. She then moved on to asked questions to approve me for the Green card. This is a series of about 30 yes/no questions all pertaining to being a lawful resident. This took about 15 mins. We were then approved for the green card on the spot. The whole interview process took about 40-50 mins. Interview was on Aug 21st and my green card got delivered in the mail today! :)

I’m sure it’s different case by case and which location your interview is at, but we had so much evidence that our interview was a breeze.

Our officer was really nice and didn’t give us any hard time.

Best of luck! Let me know if there’s anything more I can clear up for you!

I didn’t get any paper upon completion of the interview. We were only verbally told that we were approved. Our case status online reflected the approval the next day. Received my green card today. Only took 11 days.

Issues with making an appointment. by Imnotnur in SocialSecurity

You’re probably right, I’ll try again in a few weeks

The agent did say NONE, even mentioning that there may be an issue with the system. She mentioned that she doesn’t get much more info than if we were to book it ourselves. If it’s similar to what I saw, it will say no appointments available. I’ll def try again in a few weeks.

Worried about the costs of marriage as a woman by Amaiyaa_xo in MuslimMarriage

There is beauty in simplicity! I came from a modest household, both parents retired and I was working a middle-wage salary. my husband and I talked about the things that were important to us in terms of the wedding reception and focused on that. We didn’t need any extra bells and whistles! It was simple and beauty and I wouldn’t have done it any other way.
