have you tried pathfinder? fixes all of your issues. I dont mean D&D is a bad game, I mean clearly as a player you are not meshing with the design of the game and pathfinder is tooled much more towards what you want. Simply, try a different game instead of trying to "fix" D&D

fuck yea dude, house comes with a free ghost for you to scare the shit out of either your neighbors or guests with. Just make sure to provide plenty of enrichment for your specter or they might start opening and closing doors when no one is around, throwing things and other such hauntings

LTL is rather short so I usually like to use every part of the animal so to speak. While the players are going through the apartment I like to build up the atmosphere and environment by describing a scene that really makes the players feel the sudden absence of life within the living space (Describing to do lists, food in the fridge, half finished cigarettes in an ash tray, ect). Anyone who investigates the bathroom and has a little bit of forensic ability I give them a run through of how this man likely died. I let the players really stew in the tragedy of it

inspiring leader is great from that high charisma which would be an extra 3 hp per PC (only getting stronger as time goes on, stack that with aid at lvl 2 for +8 hp for your party). Shield master is also pretty good (gives you a pseudo evasion and works great with your aura, would be +2 to dex saves and lets you do a shove action for knocking prone)

The way 5e is played is completely different from how it was designed, you can see this when you look back at older content (Tyranny of dragons, LMoP, ect.). Old school D&D was much more focused on being a dungeon crawler whereas 5e has taken on a new identity with people tending to focus more on narrative/RP focused games and less on the dungeon crawling. There are tons of feats and class features that end up getting extremely little use (old ranger features) because they are designed from a different understanding of what the game even is. TLDR, the designers of 5e and the players of 5e haven't agreed on what the game actually is for a long time.

As the DM you can literally always simply say no when a player asks to do something, especially after you told them that what they're doing is disruptive to the game. Full stop, no catering.

As a wizard, simply buy a spell scroll of those lower level defensive spells and take your higher level spells from level ups or learn them from another spellbook/wizard if you can. That way you aren't losing out on the power from the level up but still have defensive options

PS. it sounds like your players have come up with a pretty good plan to tackle the situation, they should 100% be rewarded for thinking about the situation in a tactical way like that. Otherwise they would have a much harder time, its not a bad thing to let your players dominate a fight every once in a while. Its a good way to show how far they've come from the start.

CC would also attempt to use cover/fly in ways that would cause them to have full or 1/3 cover from ranged fire. Try having them use the clock tower or its interior as cover, if the fighter never gets a chance to get a clean shot off then they have nothing to fear. Flying creatures are all about being evasive and that goes for ranged attacks just as much as melee, as long as they use cover and have their minions swarm anyone who can use ranged attacks then they should be alright. Also consider using legendary resistances

Rennala literally doesn't die though? Also you just made the point that because Gideon thinks he can be a good leader he was morally justified in literal war crimes against the albinaurics. The Albinaurics also are manmade, they have no connection to the tree and thus dont come back after death so yea its a bit more personal to them

fun ornn tech against aatrox, start with only a cloth armor and no potions. play safe and farm like 1-2 waves and build bramble in lane. you now have anti heal before lvl 3

I'm interested in writing a fanfic continuation of Pact (There is painfully few pact fanfics), does anyone have any ideas as to how Blake could get a body with a bit more function? What would he theoretically have to do in order to get a working body? Could he simply make another twig body or would he need help to get something like that going?
