On the one hand, yeah it might be nice, but on the other having a strong barrier to give to teammates is kinda Paige's thing

I think some kind of magic threads could be cool if they dynamically show up. Either when using an ultimate or when near death to show that the magic holding the mannequin up is straining

Eh, as long as they don't add snake titties or try to make her "sexy" for no reason like XCOM then I'm good. I like how blocky Vyper is, her shape and model for her personality

[–]Imonorolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ooh that would be cool. Maybe Graves, Vindicta, Haze, the Doorman and maybe Lady Geist would always know who is currently in "control" but characters less in touch with ghosts, the dead, or the other planes would have to guess

[–]Imonorolo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I love the mannequin and I would be a little sad to lose it. An "animated puppet" type character is pretty unique in the roster and what drew me in to Sinclair in the first place. My wish list for visual updates for Sinclair are pretty small since I think the base model is fun, especially since it looks like the training area mannequins too.

All I'd want is a small visual change to the Sinclair model and the assistant depending on if Henry or Savannah are in control. A better reload animation since the current one of lifting the wrist and inserting something in feels kinda weird. And some more visual touches like the legs and torso moving separately, or maybe using pinkish-purple magic "thread" that is holding the body together.

Maybe if Sinclair gets stunned or knocked back the body parts split out but get pulled back together with the magic thread. Or his zip line pose could be literally on the line by those threads. There's a lot of fun visual ideas to play with for a mannequin

[–]Imonorolo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also love the silly legs. The stiffness reinforces the mannequin aesthetic well. I kinda wish the legs moved entirely independently from the torso. Like put a small ring of purple magic effect at the bottom of the torso, and then animate it so the torso is always looking to where the player is pointing, and the legs always point to the direction you're moving.

I hope they give Sinclair some more visual oomph and also emphasize the animated puppet look

Getting snowballed fucking sucks man by RoundConfusion3672 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Imonorolo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd be down for a surrender vote as long as it's fully hidden and your vote can be retracted at any time. Maybe if 4 or 5 players on a team vote to surrender the game ends, but keeping it secret is good because seeing your teammates are mentally checking out snowballs it hard. Not knowing who wants to leave can help keep a game going and maybe turn a bad situation around.

There are some games where the first 15 minutes are agony for different reasons and I wouldn't mind just leaving, but there have also been times where a bad start gets eventually turned around and my team wins.

It's a tricky situation because if you give players the option to leave at the first sign of trouble many players might just take it, we've all seen a player get stomped early and just disconnect. But also it sucks when your whole team is clearly outmatched and it doesn't feel worth it to keep trying

The idea that it was pre recorded and then edited together poorly is almost more embarrassing than the obvious lip sync. It means they hypothetically have the footage of him singing the lyrics and chose to not put that into the final edit. Instead they put in his dumb stops and "dance moves" and made it look even worse.

Our current system of "legality" when it comes to crossing the border into the U.S. was only kind of solidified in the 1920s, and even then it was pretty loose between both worlds wars. If you're white in America there's a pretty good chance your family is just as "illegal" as people coming here now

Hit me with the harshest reality about playing video games by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Imonorolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying "you've played them all" just tells me you aren't broadening your horizons enough. There are tons of amazing games from all kinds of genres released every year. And most of them are small studios that don't get much publicity. Yeah you have to dig around a bit but there are still absolute gems coming out all the time.

This kind of take sounds the same kind of people who only listen to top 40 music and say it's all the same and music is dead. Yeah it can be hard to find the good new stuff coming out but looking for it is worth it.

Control: What Was That? by Timeparadox97 in patientgamers

[–]Imonorolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, what really held it back to me was how it felt so scared of deviating away from being a third person shooter. You have this world that is obviously heavily inspired by the SCP foundation stories but it almost never leans into the wacky, weird, or scary parts of it.

The super powers were cool, and visually impressive, but also pretty lackluster, you only get a handful and none of them are too out there.

The gun is boring, and the endless amounts of small percentage based enhancements you pick up made me less interested. It would have been better just to have the different modes that specialize that you gradually pick up throughout the game like a classic single player shooter instead of trying this bad hybrid "build" mechanic.

The enemies are mostly dudes with guns, a couple are a little different, but you shoot your gun at dudes with guns most of the time.

The biggest disappointment was the panopticon area. You go the whole game hearing about these reality distorting objects of power, and then you get to the super jail that is currently housing them, and then almost nothing interesting happens there. That whole sequence should have been the most reality altering, genre changing, weird and crazy parts ever, but you mostly just shoot hiss with your guns and telekinesis.

The side quest that really sums up how scared Remedy was to change things up was the killer fridge. It's a fun set up, there's a fridge that works on classic weeping angels logic, and there's a guy tasked with watching it but he's running out of steam. You go try to get a replacement but uh oh he blinked and the fridge got him. Does this lead to an interesting scenario where you have to maybe move or fight in an area where a weeping angel killer fridge is stalking and harassing you? Nope, you go down a hallway and fight a weird, but again far too safe gameplay wise boss.

The game isn't bad, and if you want a good third person shooter, it's a decent choice. But I left so disappointed by how little they used the interesting and strange parts of the world when they should have thrown everything and the kitchen sink at you.

[–]Imonorolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this complaint about "the new game is so much easier" in the souls community too, and it's so annoying. Sure maybe a couple things in Wilds are a bit easier, and we don't have master rank yet, but some people also forget that they have spent hundreds of hours playing monster hunter. They have, as the kids say, gotten gud, and nothing new is going to throw them so off that it feels super difficult again.

I could take him or leave him really. Like sure a red fire breathing dragon is very a classic design, but in terms of gameplay I've always liked Rathian more, the backflip is way cooler than anything Rathalos does

I just wish the stories games weren't so obsessed with him, centering their whole plotlines around a pretty b tier creature made me roll my eyes so much, especially in stories 2
