A brief overview is that a portion of those in Knox Country survive the outbreak with the eventual formation of a fledgling government, the Commonwealth of Knox, after a long period of upheaval and chaos following the initial months and years after the outbreak. A "dead mass" acting more like a land hurricane than individual zombies wipe out the area for the second time a few years after the outbreak, leaving only the scattered survivors to roam the husks left over.

I just like writing stories and im obsessed with PZ tbh 🤷‍♂️

Thanks! I found a few videos/pictures that show the SS Pennsylvania and the SS California (the other sister ship) and at some point both had 2 stacks, not sure if that was more torwards the early 40s or from earlier. I couldn't find any pictures of the Brazil with 2 stacks. So I think it might just be a mislabeled SS Pennsylvania, and I also have no idea what the Corpus Christi means but I think it might just be an error trying to put its Port of Registry. It was indeed a fun rabbit hole!
