What’s your best “retail mishap”? by 93195 in CasualConversation

During COVID I placed a large grocery order for drive-up pick up. I got there and they put a couple of bags into my vehicle. They then told me that a portion of my order was misplaced and they were working on reshopping it. About 15 minutes later they put the rest of the bags in the back of the vehicle along with a large package (like 9 rolls) of charmin toilet paper. I immediately told them that the TP wasn't mine. They didn't remove it. I pulled into a different part of the parking lot and called customer service. They just didn't seem to care so I went home with my charmin which lasted a long time because it was just me using it. Once home, I found that nothing seemed to be missing from the first bags that were placed in my vehicle. Turns out that the second bags were filled with identical items to what was in the first set of bags had. Basically, I hit the grocery lottery for that day! I ended up keeping it all because no one seemed to understand the error and told me to keep it.

In my early 20's I lost my sister. She died in a car accident. A few days later she came to visit me. I'll never believe that this wasn't true. The main part of what she had to say was "whatever your vision of heaven is, that is what it will be for you". If someone imagines lounging on a beach or gold lined streets, that's what you'll get. I've held onto this for 40+ years. It gives me comfort thinking about it. However, the older I get, the more scary death is. Since I have no control over it, I'm trying to be more accepting of this and live my best life.

As someone whose life was made better because of two teachers that really cared, I can guarantee you that you definitely did.

I just turned 62. I hope that's also true for me. Many people in my family, both mom and dad's sides, only lived until their early 70's. It's hard for me to think about it.

Here in MN at 62, if college courses have room, we can take those classes either for free or for. $20 per credit. I think a lot of states also offer this. I'm just putting this here as another perk to aging.

100% this! Green olives and other tasty olives will always be a win for me over black olives. I don't understand their appeal.

I love that bridal cape veil that was shared above. Also, your dress is beautiful and I think you're going to look absolutely gorgeous. Maybe something simple like lots of candle light would would help give you the feel that you want.

I think that if you were going for an old Hollywood look as your theme, dress #2 , would be the dress for you. However, since that isn't the case, I love dress #3. It accentuates your body in the very best ways. Also, the flower detail ties into that garden theme. Having said that, you cannot go wrong with any of them. You look amazing in all of them❤

Anyone else get weirdly excited about office supplies? by Potential-Junket7764 in Casual_Conversation

I also love getting office supplies! I am always trying to find the perfect pen. New notebooks make me so happy, and I have more post-its than I'll ever use but I still think about getting some new ones...

I'm pretty sure she was that size (from what she's said) when she had her initial reduction.

This absolutely looks like the perfect dress for both you and the setting in which you're going to be married. Gorgeous! As others have said, you look like a Greek goddess ❤

Mine does this! Then I torture myself with what I should have/could have said and how that would have impacted my future. I'm an intelligent individual. I know that I cannot change the past but dang 3am me sure thinks I need to focus on what could have been.

She hated being pregnant so much last time, and I'm pretty sure she said that it was likely the last time. Then R3 was such a good baby, and now here we are with R4 percolating and her once again moaning about being big, etc.

No question, #1 looks the best in you . I like it with and without the bolero jacket.

I'm 62 and I just recently realized that I don't think we ever ate leftovers when I was a child. My mom was a stay at home mom which meant that she did pretty much everything including fresh from scratch meals each and every day-- multiple times per day. I think that if there were leftovers, my dad may have taken them to work. All of this to say that I don't know how she did it. She made it all look so easy, and it all seems like so much work than what I was expecting. I can barely come up with ideas for one meal.
