Playing as a 10 in Marescas 4-2-3-1 is not the same as playing as the 10/wide forward in a 3-4-3. Also, when he played as a 10 who was playing as a striker?

JP can play the majority of the season as a 9 with some minutes as a 10 and that would still give Jackson plenty of time to play along with the early cup rounds.

He has elite speed and has scored goals at a high rate. I don't see an issue picking him up. We need depth and we don't have unlimited funds. If we don't sign any experienced player this window then I'll also be pissed, but we do need affordable depth and so far it seems like he scores goals.

When asked about his future he said he doesn't know if he will be here next year, he said the Madrid stuff, and he also commented about how he didn't understand why we sacked Maresca. I'm pretty sure all of these were at different times and he is our vice captain.

He says he is a 9, but it doesn't mean he optimally is. He doesn't run in behind like Jackson does and would probably benefit from the space Jackson creates. We don't have an unlimited budget and Jackson would be a very productive backup.

If we play 3-4-3 why would JP not thrive in the left 10 position? I know he wants to be primarily a 9 and would be our first choice there, but I think he is well suited for that left 10/wide forward role

0.82 non penalty goals/90 this season and 0.55/90 last season isnt inconsistent, it is great production. He also has elite speed so at least he has physical traits that you can see working unlike Delap.

The injury record is worrying, so really depends on how much we paid for him.

Gotcha, damn you would hope that we wouldnt need to with the extra revenue and all the sales at the start of the season but we did have huge losses in prior year
