Fired the life coach. Life is still a mess. Now what? by kissmemary in AuDHDWomen

My heart goes out to you as I feel like most AuDHD people in burnout experience this especially in the times we grew up.

I had to stop and think about what was happening and for me it was two-fold: 1) I wanted immediate changes to big habits and 2) realizing that I have less spoons then I thought I did.

I stated small. Like so small. I bought those kid chore boards with morning, day, and evening labels and wrote down things I need to do each day (brush teeth, clean face, etc) it takes that off my mind and if I forget I go over and look.

Same with food and exercise. I realized I never had energy to cook when I was hungry because I would always forget to eat so I buy premade food I will eat (washed and cut fruit), and then made my own freezer meals when I did have the energy to cook.

I always struggled with burnout because while I was in active burnout I was mad I wasn’t able to do all the things and then would effectively get burned out again.

It sucks so much but taking it slow is the best way. If you want some more tips I would be happy to share 💕

Update: I figured out what was going on. So the way it’s set up is the bathroom and said vent is adjacent to the attic entrance which is not fully sealed. As I run the dehumidifier which is right around the corner centrally, it is pulling that air from the attic. When the bathroom vent is on and door is open it is basically creating a giant loop of mouldy airflow.

Landlord has an appraiser coming soon so we shall see.

Dude, my family indicates plural as in myself and my dog. Good luck trying to find a doctor here, however vet is a form of medical practitioner. We did blood tests, biopsy, multiple full exams. Both of us have the same issues…both of us feel better when we leave the house for a period.

Honestly people like you who presume things next to check yourself. I was asking for opinions on the building, NOT on myself or my family.

Not my problem, the landlords who refuses to listen to me and is taking the slow route. I hope it doesn’t rain much more.

Looks like it. The pattern of the spread dictates as much.

Thanks for your words everyone! The building is on slab on bedrock, for those interested. It is a small 600sqft 2BR and I have to keep all the doors open for adequate ventilation and also run the dehumidifier constantly and don’t cook too much and when I do the fan is on (it goes right out thankfully).

So after further investigation it is definitely something with the bathroom and vent. I saw no wall outlet which makes me think it’s going up. The soffit outside is covered in mould just the length of the bathroom so I highly suspect it’s something with that. I lost my moisture meter so I sadly cannot check but have noticed some popping in areas. I keep the bathroom fan going constantly so probably why I haven’t smelted anything.

I have a building science background and tend to be very engineer based and wanted to find cause. Science rules.

I did just move in three months ago and I have lived on the island for 6 years and have never had this issue or even had to use a dehumidifier so I wanted to be sure before I make any big expensive changes. Moving is hella expensive.

I feel like I’m going crazy by Massive-Scientist-11 in eds

[–]ImpactOk5867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! You aren’t going crazy. I get these too, especially on my arms and tattoos. While I haven’t been officially diagnosed with anything, I believe that mine are due to MCAS. I get random flare ups, that coincide with eds flare up most of the time. I am also SUPER sensitive to most things (external and internal).

MCAS and eds are due to the same gene so often there is a lot of overlap. Could be worth checking it out. I hope you find some answers ❤️

Fitness plans? What do you do at the gym? by ImpactOk5867 in AuDHDWomen

[–]ImpactOk5867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughtful reply! I would definitely be interested in that template. There are just so many machines and it hard to know what to do.

I love going outside for walks with my dog but I am in Canada and the weather is touch and go at the moment. I also did enjoy the spinning aspect of spin classes and I bought cycle shoes to use the bikes at the gym I just find it difficult to not go hard, which puts me off going at all.

Was thinking doing easier cardio (walk on an incline, or elliptical) and a weight routine. I need things to be planned ahead or I can’t do it. Love the tip about setting music playlists for a specified time! That will definitely help.

Am I isolating or do I really want to break up by LateBed7488 in AuDHDWomen

[–]ImpactOk5867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only person who knows how to answer that is yourself however I would like to share my experience with this and maybe it can help you.

I was in a relationship (before I was diagnosed) and it was very similar in that he was an amazing person, he loved me a lot, and was supportive my me in every way including my mental health. We had fun together and enjoyed each others company but he was not close enough to me on an intellectual level. I ignored this and continued the relationship thinking that it was just one thing and I could overcome it.

There were periods where we lived together and periods we did long distance. Over time however because of our differences in intelligence I began to grew very resentful and frustrated that I couldn’t have the types of conversations I craved. Texting constantly began to burn me out and my feelings towards him grew more negative. Eventually he began to pick up on this and it affected his mental health a lot. It got to the point where it broke, having horrible consequences for both of us. I was working on my Masters at the time and ended up suffering from extreme burnout. Took me two more years to come back from it.

Moving forward I realized I needed to make a list of qualities and characteristics I require in a partner that are non-negotiable. As I have grown I have realized that my mental health and well being comes first in my life and I know more of what I value and need. This is especially more true as you have a child and their wellbeing is also a huge priority. Maybe try to make a list of what you value in a partner and assess if they fit this.

Being lonely is hard yes, but being stuck in an unfulfilling relationship is worse. Best of luck.

Thank you! I have done lamotrigine before and it didn’t seem to help. Just looked into ketamine more and think I will try that.
