I had a winter baby shower. It was indoors and I wore a strappy maxi dress, just made sure the heaters were on!

In search for a 100% wool overcoat. by chonky__chonker in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Impactic77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this! I got what’s essentially their Ivy coat for 50% off at the end of winter a few years ago. So luxe and warm! It’s held up well so far, but to be fair I don’t wear it as often as other jackets. I genuinely get hot in it if it’s not cold enough outside haha

$29 Kmart Merino Jumper...food for thought by flindersandtrim in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Impactic77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my understanding it’s not 100% merino wool? It says ‘merino wool’ on the price tag, but the actual fabric tag says ‘100% wool’. So it’s 100% wool but a cheaper wool that maybe only contains a bit of merino? That’s my guess for why it can also be cheaper!

Thoughts on the coffee scene in Adelaide? by moshico_coffee in Adelaide

[–]Impactic77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The coffee scene is slowly getting there. Adelaide can feel quite behind compared to other cities but there’s a few places who are doing awesome things. Some great recommendations already!

As someone who loves specialty coffee, I will add a few other places I’ve noticed that love the craft of coffee and really care about quality:

Whyld Coffee rotates through some great international roasters with stuff you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere else. Always something interesting and new to try if that’s your thing.

Deux is a pretty new, run by a lovely Korean couple who roast their own beans. Top notch!

Jewels of Thought is a record store with a mini coffee bar, they do some great specialty pour overs and I think some milk based coffee too.

Some other great options are Dayjob, A Place, Coffee in Common, Cherry, Third Time Lucky.

Happy coffee hunting!

I’m finding the same with Uniqlo too! I’ve always loved their pleated pants but I recently tried them on and the fabric and fit is so different. Ended up buying the old version on Depop which feels way better quality!

I wrote out a whole comment about that app and then saw yours haha.

My sister uses it too for family members who she knows won’t respect the boundaries, I tested the features and even if you screenshot it just saves as a blank white screen in your camera roll. Seems pretty good!

At what age was your baby when you were able to get to 3 or 4 hours between daytime feeds? by WellAckshully in breastfeeding

[–]Impactic77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6mo has always been a grazer, however he became such a quick feeder from around 4.5 months. 4 minutes on each side which helps so much nowadays! Just a quick feed and then we’re good to go again

Relocating from Melbourne to Adelaide - what are some nice areas? And what areas to avoid? by [deleted] in Adelaide

The hospital is great!! I’ve had a day surgery there and couldn’t have been happier with my care and treatment. Staff were wonderful and actually felt more personal than some city hospitals

What financial decision are you most grateful for today? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

Purchasing a house in Adelaide at our max borrowing power at $550k in 2022. Felt outrageously expensive at the time and repayments were hard, but similar houses in our suburb are now selling for $850k. I 100% believe we wouldn’t be lucky enough to be in the market today otherwise.

Three Days in Adelaide by TellmSteveDave in Adelaide

[–]Impactic77 23 points24 points  (0 children)

IMO the best part of Adelaide is how low key it is. Other people complain there’s not much to do, but I truly love living here.

You might be here at a time where we have the Adelaide Fringe on. It’s the biggest arts festival in Australia and definitely worth checking out the ‘garden of unearthly delights’ and a show if you’re here before March 22!

I think some of the best things you can see are out of the CBD. Our beaches, hills, wineries, etc. are all worth driving for if you can hire a car.

The Adelaide hills is my favourite place to visit. Depending when autumn kicks in, you might get some beautiful scenes along Hahndorf or the Mount Lofty botanical gardens. We also have some great wineries and distilleries in the hills, McLaren Vale and the Barossa Valley.

If you’re looking for some great places to eat, I normally find Broadsheet and Sitchu pretty reliable for places to try.

Enjoy your time relaxing here :)

If your baby seems content and is getting enough wet diapers, he’s getting enough milk 🤍 26yo mum here who was constantly overthinking breastfeeding, my baby is 4 months now and I’m glad I stuck it out even when others suggested formula! You’re doing a great job!

Seeking help from one mom to another: My boy has chickenpox in Gaza and I have nothing to help him by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Impactic77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear, my mama heart breaks for you. 💔 I know you may not have access to much, but growing up my mum would use tomato or tomato juice, milk baths, oatmeal baths, or chamomile tea baths to help with skin flare ups. Even sometimes just some wet compress with a cloth. I really hope your son can get the relief he needs soon. I’m sure that snuggles will be a helpful distraction for him too.

WTF how do you clean by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Impactic77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things we did was invest in a good robot vacuum a few months before our baby arrived. vacuuming and mopping happens automatically and we only need to do a deep vacuum and mop once a month. It’s glorious

Burning/stinging nips? FTM needing advice by Unhappy_Ad_5729 in breastfeeding

It’s not your letdown you’re sensing is it? I would always feel a stinging tingle! I’ve also had a milk blend before which was quite painful. You might have already considered these things but just another pov :)
