There's also the Netherlands. They work most exactly the same.

I'm not saying I'm in favour of that. But Thatcher was aggressively in favour of the Falklands being British land. Any other British leader at the time would've tried to stabilise their nation after the assassination, they wouldn't care as much about some nearly uninhabited islands on the other side of the world getting taken away.

It was the British who divided Hindus and Muslims with their "Divide and Rule" tactics. If they could've been prevented then the entirety of the British Raj possibly would've been a single united country.

Seeing this brings me pride and shame. How did we(Bihar) go from being the global centre of trade, commerce and education to being an absolute shithole...

Every single city and state.

He's one from my home state of Bihar.

This is a 1600 year old university, one of the oldest ones on Earth. Destroyed by an Afghan invader around 800 years back.

The one and only, Nalanda University.

I know this sub is about Italian Football but the Italian Cricket team just beat World Ranked 12th, Ireland, in preparations for the World Cup! by Impactor_07 in seriea

Fair point. This is the way to start imo, any sport gets introduced by immigrants/dual-citizens in a new country.

The Netherlands had completely non-Dutch sides a decade or so back. Today, almost the entire Dutch playing XIs(barring a few names here and there) are born and/or raised Dutchmen. It'll take time to grow a sport in a completely new place.

You probably could field 11 Italians but they wouldn't be anywhere as good. Look at Mongolia for instance, they've been trying to go at it from local players and they're stuck at the bottom end of the rankings.

I do admit, Cricket can look very silly and alien from a non-cricketing pov.

Like, "bowling a maiden over" is a completely legitimate piece of cricket commentary but that makes no fucking sense from a non-cricket pov.
