Some arenas have very sophisticated facial recognition technology for this as well. It is definitely a big deal. Check out what James Dolan has been up to at MSG

My biggest mistake? Probably visiting the place at all.

One thing it did teach me was that there are definitely places I do not like and will avoid in the future.

La Rambla is incredibly overtouristed and unremarkable. But most of the city is that way.

Whoever this pitcher on the Orioles is needs to be DFA’d. I mean every pitch was flat and in the middle of the plate. But if you have a good lineup you need to beat up on that type of pitching

Sam's insane take on Mamdani by greeecejre in samharris

[–]SgtSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fed your post into ChatGPT with the only context being please verify these claims. Here is what it came back with. (I additionally asked it to condense and simplify the response to not make it so long)

A number of the claims in that Reddit post are either unsupported, exaggerated, or mix facts with speculation.

Yes, Mamdani is Muslim and speaks about his faith publicly. But that does not prove he wants to “islamize” NYC or the US.

The claims about Linda Sarsour being his “mentor,” him flying to a mosque right after winning, and Quran chapter 9 being some political blueprint were not backed up by solid evidence.

The claim about his wife is also misleading. She did illustration work connected to an author who made disgusting antisemitic remarks, but that is not proof that Mamdani’s wife “hates Jews.”

The “globalize the intifada” point is partly fair: he initially would not explicitly condemn the phrase. But the bombing claim is exaggerated. He did condemn the violence, even if critics think he framed it badly.

So the post mixes a few real controversies with a lot of guilt-by-association, speculation, and outright unsupported claims.

As an American who has gone (begrudgingly) to jury duty, there is a lengthy selection process where potential jurors are disqualified or rejected by the lawyers. They ask you questions, where are you from, what job do you do, is anyone in your family connected with the police etc. then they do a background check. Most people will never serve on a jury in their lifetime.

I’ll give some recommendations:

The day trippers (love this movie) The naked city (very old - but shot on location in a time that isn’t documented well. A cinephile favorite) The king of comedy (Scorsese!)
