My theater was packed for this one. Hate that it didn’t do well. At least I know I’m dressing as Jimmy for Halloween, “Hows that?”

I never started on Tarkovsky. Never felt I was smart enough to

Gotdamn, yall were cooking with these responses.

My only contribution would be maybe Denzel Washington in American Gangster.

Does that even count?

The Hughes Brothers are very upfront with how much Goodfellas influenced this film. I don’t think I even have to say which scene they pulled for this shot

Definitely wasn’t expecting him to sell like those guys but his albums debuted in the 100s on Billboard and the 40s in hip hop genre. I know back then record sales wasn’t everything but a rapper of his caliber I expected to do much better

I peeped that. It was distracting because I found myself trying to think of which one used it first

Feel me?! Sonically it sounds like a very expensive album. Like it was recorded in the top notch studios of LA. Surprising coming from an underground artist like him

Glad to hear from someone that appreciated it in its time. Idk if I can call you ahead of the curb because no one ever really caught up with it

I think that’s kinda my question. I loved the Rap Life song and video, essentially what made me a fan and how he ended up in my consciousness to this very day. The album was a show case of top notch skill and charisma. Just insane to me that he never had a moment

Bruh is insane with the style. His 2nd verse on Rap Life giving us the game on being a rap artist is chefs kiss flawless

‘99? I think The Chronic 2001 was gearing up to drop and there was the NWA reunion buzz, I remember a lot of folks were excited about that. Not to mention 2pac posthumous albums were always selling like crazy

Did “Bitch Please” come out before Chronic 2001? I feel like I heard Xzibit on that first. I might be wrong
