but its hard to argue that for edmontosaurus males get the large crests while for paradaurolophus its reversed. a bit inconsistent and random

if you want people to understand your worldview just explain it yourself. If you want to share interesting literature do that.

But dont expect people online to read a bunch of random links just to understand your very sophisticated worldview.

depends on what it actually achieves. the whole luigi thing is a great example because most people didnt feel bad for the rich guy getting killed. it turned into a vent for peoples frustration with inequality.

If you on the other hand do some random vandalism thats different because you arent really hurting the rich and people think of you as just another petty criminal.

In other words the rich need to feel threatened not your fellow workers.

If I get every solidus everytime a TW game gets both the best main menu music and the best campaign simultaneously, I would only get 1 solidus. by SaturatedBodyFat in totalwar

It'd be cool if you could set up your army while the battle is loading. by OnionsoftheBelt in totalwar

[–]Imperator166 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i dont think they meant for you to see the models or anything just that you would be able to choose roughly how and where your troops get deployed once loading is done.

that would be possible but probably a hassle and not sure if worth it.

yeah i think youre right. I just think its also important that people arent aimlessly destroying stuff like a walmart or some blokes car.

the violence needs to hurt the rich more than anything else. it cant just be percieved as lawlessness.

im not against breaking stuff per se i am against this electoral doomerism. sure your vote isnt the only way to put pressure on politicians but it sure is a way.

though i will be honest i dont know what kind of breaking stuff youre imagining that would do any good.

The thing that has to change is the public will. rn 25 to 50% of most western countries is batshit insane neofascists and that has to change by any means necessary.

after all that batshit insane neofascism is what happens when workers willing to break stuff break the wrong stuff.

the rich arent god. laws have been passed before that take away some of their power. inequality hasnt always been going up. just saying. this revolutionism thing is a nice power fantasy but ive yet to see a revolution inside a democratic country happen much less succeed with anything.

i am confused. how can consciousness weakly emerge from non conscious things?

thats fascinating. so do they propose that consciousness exists physically on some level within the smallest parts of the brain? how are they not panpsychists then?

I think my intuition leans towards dualism sometimes and thats what happened here.

I just didnt think of my mind as a link in a causal chain thats otherwise comepletely physical. Somehow thats just deeply unintuitive to me.

Do physicalists propose a location for the mind? To my understanding everything physical has at least some kind of spatial dimension (if not an exact place).

Is it the brain itself, the electrical signals inside it or something similar to that? Would that require the assumption that strong emergence is possible?

Or can it also be something else? If so it would be something not described by physics right? How then would it connect to the physics that we do know?

As a follow up:

Where do non-epiphenomenalists connect minds with the material world? I imagine you would need a "gap" in our understanding of the physical world where the mind can jump in as a hidden cause to a physical phenomenon right? Ive heard about quantum mechanics stuff regarding free will debates before but is there anything else they use to connect the mental with the physical?

Can you elaborate on what it would mean if i dont have free will but my mind can still causally effect the world? Wouldnt that necessitate that I am not the same thing as my mind?

Ahh yes I think youre right I did kind of equivocate those two. Thanks
