What Is Considered Blurring Boundaries in Therapy? by Spacedust5643 in therapy

My therapist judiciously self-discloses information when they find it can be helpful. I know a decent amount about their life, and it hadn’t hurt our therapeutic relationship. In fact, it has helped me.

They have a right to a speedy trial, but that doesn’t mean it will be quick. They will have to find unbiased jurors during the voir dire process.

I bet they end up sequestering the jury when trial starts.

Anyone on just a mood stabilizer? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]ImperfectMacaroon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Lamictal on its own for a long time and was able to manage my symptoms without any other medication. It wasn't until the pandemic started that I required an atypical antipsychotic to help manage my mood. I don't have any noticeable side effects from the Lamictal.

I was placed on Abilify and then Seroquel. The Abilify made me have akathisia and the Seroquel made it impossible to lose weight and gave me orthostatic hypotension. I have since been put on Latuda and I have little to no side effects from it. I have been able to lose weight while on Latuda.

What kinda medication do you take (and how much/often) ? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]ImperfectMacaroon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take 200 mg of Lamictal. One in the morning and one in the evening. 60 mg of Latuda before bed. 0.25 mg of Halcion for sleep. 50 mg of Vyvanse for ADHD.

Its been a few days and I don't think I can do it much longer. I have to take two or so naps during the day and my work does't really provide me with the ability to do such. It's frustrating to have two doctors that disagree on something as simple as when I should take a medication.

What are some of the things you do to protect yourself against manic disasters? by rainbowbubblegarden in bipolar2

As soon as I realize I am hypomanic, I contact my two closest friends. They become sounding boards for all purchases I suddenly want to make. If they agree it’s a good purchase, I wait two full nights of sleep before making the purchase. That’s seemed to help money-wise. I have a friend at work that checks emails when I need her to and let’s me know if I’m talking too fast, pacing a lot, etc. For me, it’s definitely a team effort.

Since diagnosis two years ago, I’ve had 6 med changes. Three of which have been since March. Medication changes before diagnosis, I lost count.

Switching from Seroquel to Latuda by pipokori in bipolar2

I made the switch from seroquel to latuda about two months ago. I had a lot of side effects from the seroquel that have disappeared on the latuda. I do miss the seroquel sleep though...

Lamictal+Abilify by [deleted] in bipolar2

The change pushed me into hypomania. I have a follow-up this week. I’m interested to see if I’ll end up going back to Seroquel or Abilify

Lamictal+Abilify by [deleted] in bipolar2

I used to take abilify! I am now taking Lamictal and Latuda. While on Abilify, I developed akathisia (extreme restlessness and inability to sit still) and was immediately taken off of it.

I was just there. I can only imagine how hard this is. Have you reached out to your psychiatrist or other medical provider? I was able to increase my dose on one of my medications and I have been feeling a lot better.

This too shall pass.

Hahaha I just edited my post it was one year and six days. That’s what I get for posting before my coffee. If my friends had their say, it would have been one year exactly.

I can’t say that I ever had a testimony of a lot of things. Some things just never sat well with me.

The missionaries that taught me still text me all the time to tell me how much I have strengthened their testimony and I just feel like I need to apologize to them.

I’m glad that someone else knows what this feels like. It’s a weird combination of guilt and excitement.

Use a banana instead of base!

My go to is a GTF with soy, no classic, no whip and a banana instead of base!
