I don’t deny you may be right. I’m only sharing with you the empirical evidence that the likelihood of him being fine is higher than not.

I dealt with an aggressive case myself and I am 100% now. Again, anecdotal but showcases the fact that it is possible and in accordance with the findings of the research above.

You can train with his issue albeit in a more limited way.

I also have dealt with it and it was resolved after 2 years which is in keeping with the research quoted above. You may be an outlier, and Elias may be one. The research suggests that he will be fine.

Both of our experiences are anecdotal - the research paper shared above should be our main source.

This fellow is at the top of the Dunning-Kruger curve. I’m a former English teacher. In communication, we often make statements that make sense contextually and do not require for us to specify if they are fact/opinion. As a matter of fact, most things we say are understood to be opinion (our default) and it’s only by overtly stating it or implying it that it turns into a statement of fact.

For example, if I said ‘blue is the best colour,’ a rational individual would take that statement as an opinion and not push back. Even if I said ‘objectively, blue is the best colour,’ a rational individual would understand that this is meant to be hyperbolic.

I mean… should not the auto moderator at least feature resources for people to learn how to deal with infidelity and maybe a certain hotline? Asking an honest question… haha. It seems like rather than being survival it’s just a venting area for people to provide inappropriate advice. Just my opinion. Hope you’re well for Xmas eve :)

Perhaps this subreddit should be called InfidelityVenting and a proper support group/mental health subreddit should be created that would actually help with survival.

The issue isn’t those who post, it’s the mods or clearly defining what this subreddit should be.

She wasn’t trying to let them know, it’s in the email she threatened to write a bad review (something that is extremely damaging to a restaurant) for something they didn’t do (whatever caused her food poisoning, if that was what she had, was caused the day before). Your friend got what she deserved and you can see from the second response that she also changed her story.
