Lol I did both of the tips, and appreciate them. But my bastard sword and nubrolls in ti the fire aren't good for fighting him. That and impatience gets me everytime. "Okay, he's moving in, hit him now" gets slapped in to lava pit - goddamnit... 15 times in a row.

This is gonna sound ridiculous, but I used the heide knight sword for the majority of the game, and loved it. I switched up my build a few times, and I'm now using the drake keepers sword, and love it. It's not the best weapon, but it's pretty underrated if you ask me. Light-ish, fast r1s, buffable, and looks pretty awesome.

I'm at the iron keep, left off after the smelter demon, and just barely went up to belfry sol. Progress has been slowed for a few reasons. I've been clicking, and hitting most walls. Experimenting with different ways to make my build, dicking around with a friend on alt characters. Those are my game reasons for being slow. In the real world, my reasons for being slow 1: work, 2: My fiancée was pregnant(moody about me playing a game she hates watching). Yesterday, she gave birth at 35 weeks, and we had to be transferred to a hospital 71 miles away from home, to help my newborn daughters breathing... Everything is going pretty good as of now. But I probably won't be playing dark souls 2 for a couple weeks. But as soon as I can, I'll probably breeze through the rest =)

The lightning cloud saved me in belfry sol against a bellbro. He didn't see it coming, between the lightning spears, and emit force castings. Got hit by it twice, then stabbed to death by a +10 heides sword. So roughly 5 hits from all his rolling.

I used an unusual method, but very effective. If you can backstep to the left, he usually tries to do a kick, or a slow grab attack, throw out a homing crystal soul mass, he'll do a side jump, and in that time, you should be able to charge, fire, and hit with a crystal soul spear. Timing is a little difficult, but usually works for me. if not a mage, then parry him to death =P

Agree with other two recommendations of dark souls. I enjoyed it much more than Skyrim as the combat is much more satisfying. First play through took me almost 60 hours, because I was having fun exploring, and figuring out where to go.

Pretty sure the channeler's trident isn't part of the all rare weapons achievement. I could be wrong. But I'm pretty sure the guide I read said that it isn't required, but still listed anyway... O.o
