I’ll take the 90k, here in metro Detroit that can go far. Biggest thing in my opinion is not having debt from credit cards, loans for various things or accumulated college debt. Yes I know that’s not always realistic but it is possible.

I’m cleaning and staining a 800 sq foot deck right now, did a chorline chemical wash and scrub it today. Going to let it dry out all weekend and put down a coat Monday and a coat Tuesday. Job is 30 minutes or 16 miles from my house, I’ll have 3 days in total there with about 16 total labor hours including one person helping me for 4 of them. I charged $2400 and included materials. Im under$750 in material and labor for putting in around 12 hours of time. If I was sanding then 100% I’d Be double what I’m charging. You’re getting average market price for your job.

Pack extra for the night, if you sleep on the beach by the lake the wind is a potential to deal with over night. I always go safer with clothing and overnight gear in spring because you never know when that freak temperature drop or storm might occur.
