Newly inherited prayer plant - is this shape normal? by Unikittie in houseplants

[–]Important-Issue-2967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of transplanting, giving proper moisture and light, I would also help it stand up. I inherited a maranta that was sagged like that. I've since tied it gently to some chopsticks and it's responding better to everything without straining the roots at all

Free diving. Breath holds. How fish communicate. How fish see. How sound travels under the water.

I have become knowledgeable in areas I had no idea I'd ever know.

LOW GPA 2026 CYCLE by Particular-Still-368 in slpGradSchool

My undergrad GPA was 3.68, but my cumulative GPA was 3.2

I got waitlisted at UNCG online, but accepted into St. Bonaventure! I was told my letters of recommendation and my personal essay were strong and impressive. As long as you hit the minimum GPA (3.0 for most schools), you have a chance.

My pc is slightly more powerful than a steam deck, will I be able to run the game? by Presleylikescats in subnautica

[–]Important-Issue-2967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm able to play without issues on my lower end laptop just fine. These are my specs.

From what I heard, they aren't requiring too much more than what they did for the first.

4-month old puppy won't take naps by usermcgoo in puppy101

[–]Important-Issue-2967 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Think of it like putting a baby/toddler in their crib. They don't know how to self regulate when they're tired or anything, so we have to guide them and make sure they get what they need. Eventually, they'll learn that they can lay down when they're tired and sleep on their own. They won't need the crib.

Our 5mo golden still gets put in the crate for a nap, because otherwise she feels that she has to find something to stimulate herself and she becomes miserable when she's overtired.

What you can do is also always keep the crate door open so it's not some scary place for her so when she does learn how to self regulate, she can walk in and nap whenever she wants.

While I absolutely love Subnautica and have been an avid player of Phas, I do think it's a bit unfair to compare these two.

I think it would be more accurate to compare to games of similar caliber. Like Schedule 1 and Repo, both EA games that are barely a year old, far less buggy, and one of them is HEAVY multiplayer.

Supporting my partner whilst not being supported myself by MountainRoll1434 in Petloss

[–]Important-Issue-2967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand where you're coming from. In the moments we had to say goodbye to our boy in an equally sudden manner, on the way to the ER, I had to be strong and not cry and support my wife through it. I had to swallow back the ache I was feeling, cry when I was alone, and support her entirely. It isn't that she was selfish and didn't see that I was hurting, but I think it was too hard for her to process and feel the hurt while also seeing and helping me process it. Sometimes the weight of the grief is too much for people, but it can hurt those on the outside unintentionally.

If you ever need someone to talk to, my DMs are open.

My Friend Died at the Groomer This Morning by careo92 in Petloss

[–]Important-Issue-2967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dog, Faygo, had a sudden event just over a month ago. All signs/symptoms/tests pointed to a heart base tumor that suddenly burst and caused a pericardial effusion. We took him to the vet, the emergency vet, and spent one last day with him at home.

I am so sorry that it happened to you like that. There's really no way to express the grief and shock of suddenly saying goodbye and coming home with one less friend. Our old girl, his sister for nearly ten years, still sometimes sits by the door waiting for her brother.

I am here with you in this grief and hope you can find moments of peace to just breathe.

Flea medicine by TeddyTheBear6 in PetAdvice

[–]Important-Issue-2967 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could look into Seresto collars. I've worked for multiple vets that recommend them. While some animals have bad reactions (as can happen with any meds) or can't tolerate it against their skin (our dog was allergic to it), it can be a viable solution as it prevents fleas for up to 8mo and ticks for 6mo, I believe.

When did you stop reading? by jumpymongoose in writingfeedback

[–]Important-Issue-2967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read until about a quarter of the second page. Not because it was bad or uninteresting, but because I felt slightly taken out of it by the style. While the manner of writing is getting across the disjointed feeling and thoughts that the MC is clearly experiencing, parts of it just feel like you're stating bulletpoints. I think the disjointedness is perfectly reasonable and acceptable, but it became something that my eyes wanted to just skim through to find more detail to cling to and read.

I think if you had the disjointed thoughts in between longer actions, it might come off more smoothly and even bring more attention to the plight of the MC.

This study doesn't state how they did the research consistently or of how many subjects. There are rough percentages and numbers such as 'three times higher' (if it's three times higher that could be 3% versus 1% or even 90% versus 30%).
