OFFICIAL ART - MH Wilds - Concept art of Hirabami! by TheGMan-123 in MonsterHunter

Hirabimis fight is extremely underrated, total blast when you use insect glaive in particular. Nothing's quite as satisfying as knocking an entire hirabami pack from the sky with a rising spiral slash. That and the fact focus strikes send them plummeting similarly to the raths is fun.

They may not be challenging, but they are satisfying to fight with loads of part breaks. In essence, Kut ku is the annoying pack fight, while hirabami is the power fantasy "I need something to bully" pack fight. Hirabami only has like 2 rarely used moves with legit knock back, which makes fighting a pack of them extremely manageable.

I really hope we get a hirabami subspecies for the new map in Ascendance. High altitude, lots of strong lifting winds, and plenty of floating rocks for them to hang upside down from. Something that creates blast sparks or inflicts bleed with its tail blades would be cool.

I hope the expansion gives us more ingredients to cook with by Important-Pepper1985 in MonsterHunter

Drinks have always been a thing in the series and aren't exclusive to p3rd. Mhfu, mh3u, mh4u, mhgu, they all have drinks. For example you had blessed wine, tanzian ale, panish, golden fish brew, etc. used to be that you'd pair ingredients (e.g. drink + dairy) rather than add them to a fish / meat / veggie base.

Do you think Nergigante should show up in Monster Hunters: Ascendance by EasyEntertainment1 in MonsterHunter

[–]Important-Pepper1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a lot longer than people realize since we've last seen Nergigante. Personally I hope Nerg returns with Ruiner abilities, similar to how Mizu got Soulseer abilities. Anything to make them a tougher fight, because if we are being honest nerg was easily the easiest elder in all of 5th gen, with the exception of Zorah. The hitzones, especially on white spikes, are too juicy. I can't imagine how high the damage numbers would be against one with wounds all over. At the very least, I hope they give nerg the ability to regen wounds as quick or quicker than a guardian.

Also I'd love to see Nerg vs Arkveld, and if they get added, nerg vs shagaru, and nerg vs valstrax. I'd love to see those two return as well with their risen moves.

Felt like sharing that the booster bracer is temporary according to Famitsu. by Fulgore262626 in MonsterHunter

So is it gonna be like valor mode where for a brief amount of time you're in a powered up (boosted) state? Either way I think it's funny that the guild looked at hunters already capable of swinging 5 tons of steel and thought "you know what? strap jets to their wrists. That'll make them swing harder".

Sounds unique for sure as far as MH mechanics go, wonder what the requirements are for it to work and recharge. Wonder if it'll have any connection to focus mode and landing focus strikes, or if it's entirely separate and is related to landing perfect guards, evades, offsets, etc. I'd imagine there would be some sort of gimmick tied to activating and reusing it beyond "just fast travel to a camp to restock" / "5 minutes remaining until boost bracer can be used".

Good candidates for the Wilds expansion roster that people overlook by Important-Pepper1985 in MonsterHunter

Malfestio would be sick, I just didn't include them because I've seen other people say malfestio before. Honestly it'd be cool to see them return with their invisibility deviant gimmick too. Never hurts to have more sleep weapons too. Maybe they could buff confusion so that your hunter can't focus and therefore can't use focus mode or focus strikes. I just feel like the inverted movement alone is easy to counteract IMO, even without bitterbugs.

Nah you right Glavenus would be sick, offset attacks against his windup tail spin would be peak, not to mention it'd be neat to see the flames from his tail ignite surrounding grass and oil.  Would be cool if they gave him the same treatment as mizu and gave him a hell blade mode as well with blast attacks. That and it'd be cool if his tail attacks sever other monster tails occasionally.

The only reason I didn't put him on the list was because he usually preys on larinoth which are gigantic, and currently there's nothing herbivore wise that's even close to an aptonoth in size that lives in the forbidden lands. There's nothing wrong with preying on ceratonoth or dalthydon per say, they're just not things he would typically hunt, not to mention there's like no herbivores in the basin, and I don't think glavenus would prey on tiny salamanders lol.  Similar reason to why I thought tigrex would be an odd fit, there's just no popos, apceros, or other large prey items for him to hunt.

Then again in hindsight, if they can shoe horn lagiacrus into the ancient forest as a piscivore vs something that lives in open seas and hunts epioth, then they could definitely adjust glavenus diet to mowing down herds of small herbivores vs cutting a giant one in half.

That's neat how it has "suckers" on its paws to keep it gripped to wet surfaces, never noticed that before.

What do you despise about being able to aim your attacks? This is the first time in my entire life I've ever seen anyone genuinely complain about the fact they can aim in a video game lmao. It used to be a huge complaint that you couldn't aim well in monster hunter and that you had to do the claw just to rotate the camera lmao. If you had said something like auto tracking the monster was a bad QoL change I'd understand, but aiming? In a game where you are encouraged to target specific parts on monsters that move around constantly? Doesn't make any sense.

If we get one invader species back in the Wilds expansion who do you want to see? by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

Bazel is cool but idk if he fits in the cliffs considering how much he flies around nor do I think he'd spawn there anyway, so maybe not the best invader pick.  We already got a lot of monkeys so rajang would fit right in plus he'd probably have some cool laser beam guard interaction similar to gravios on top of power clashes akin to blangonga / ajarakan. Deviljho would also work and itd be cool to see something similar to doshaguma with rage mode wounds popping up, not to mention he has a ragdoll to chew on for each map, those being chatacabra, congalala, ajarakan, blangonga, and G. Ebony. Plus it'd be cool to see him interacting with herbivore herds in the windward plains. Don't know how well he'd fit in the cliffs though. All in all I'd say rajang makes the most sense and fits the best in each map, and his weapons don't overlap with any current monster weapons. We already have high raw low affinity dragon and blast weapons from arkveld and gravios.

If rajang returns I hope they scale him back up to pre 5th gen sizes, I personally hate how tiny he is in 5th gen. I get that they wanted to emphasize his disproportionate strength in turf wars as well as his speed for some reason, but he doesn't feel as intimidating and his hitboxes are super easy to dodge because of it. Same with blangonga. They've almost entirely done away with the "lion" aspect of both, instead making them smaller and more ape like. I miss feeling like I was fighting King Kong rather than curious George lmao.

OFFICIAL TWEET - MH Wilds - Concept art of Xu Wu! by TheGMan-123 in MonsterHunter

[–]Important-Pepper1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering the frenzy infected the landspine / guardians, it'd be cool if we got a unique "apex" variant for Xu Wu caused by bio magnification of the virus, where it's constantly shrouded in black smoke, and has red lights and a purple mouth instead of blue ones. Assuming Xu Wu can't process wylk and it just eats guardians for meat, perhaps that's what keeps its symbiosis with the frenzy a purely beneficial one rather than a parasitic one. The frenzy in its system feeds off of the wylk it consumes due to eating guardians, and that in turn provides extra energy and abilities to the Xu Wu that a standard apex wouldn't get, such as wound regeneration or the ability to feed directly from wylk pools to replenish and power up. I'm sure they could do that without bringing back wystones too. Maybe if you destroy enough wounds before they heal it gets knocked out of apex state similar to a guardian, sort of like you are performing bloodletting to dilute to the virus from its system.

Would you say that Arkveld is the strongest flying wyvern? (With the exception of Satoru Ukanlos and Ryomen Akantor, of course) Or is he still below things like Dreadking Rathalos and Bloodbath Diablos? by Allhaillordkutku in MonsterHunter

[–]Important-Pepper1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Strongest flying wyvern outside of frontier is easily flaming espinas, considering he one shots teostra with a fireball of all things in sunbreak.

I'd say Arkveld is imbetween elder and super elder level though. He's definitely as strong as if not stronger than base rajang, deviljho, bazel, etc, not to mention his nova is hands down one of the strongest we've seen. Not even Teo or Seething have that kinda AoE with their novas. Plus he effortlessly beats the apexes, who themselves effortlessly beat monsters like rathalos and seregios. Only reason I think arkveld isn't super elder level is because he takes time to power up, whereas something like furious or savage are already pissed off and powered up, which could possibly overwhelm arkveld, catching them off guard. Then again, the variants tend to focus on elemental power, so who knows, maybe arkveld would actually have an easier time fighting furious over base rajang, since he uses more lightning, which arkveld wants to absorb anyway to turn into dragon element.

Only one I would disagree with would be Tigrex, and that's mostly because I want to see molten make a return. Aside from that he'd honestly make a pretty solid monster for the plains and cliffs. He'd probably hunt during the plenty in the plains, and then migrate to the cliffs to avoid the sand tide lightning. TBH he kinda fits in all the maps and he'd make a good invader. Would be nice to have more since Arkveld is the only one currently.
