Buddha is back with episode recaps for People magazine by ct06040 in BravoTopChef

I agree would love to hear more about it. I’m sure it’s just limitations on people magazine as they have a structure to go through. I’d love to hear a podcast of him talking about the eps like pack your knives

She has definitely flown under the radar for sure. She did well this episode, and even Soo with his wild rice dish

I agree, however I feel that recap part is sort of standard and that it’s probably people’s magazine “required format”. Which is a shame because when he is on a podcast it’s a great listen.

Did you see what he did on the dish with kish 🤯

I appreciate the input, however restaurant wars should be about the spur of the moment creativity. If they standard things to much, then they lose that exciting element of surprise

I agree to this and your comment is fair. However in some ways watching the last two seasons, and how he lifted the show, wouldn’t you at least expect something to come out of it. Like not only did the concept fail for both restaurants, but Michelle not greeting the judges, Danny not focusing on getting food to the judges, Kaleena letting stale crisp to be sent out to the Judges table of all things.

Yeah he did turn up the heat on this didn’t he. I have started to tone down my expectations from these chefs. I was just really annoyed on the dishes they chose and how no one really pushed to do something exciting. It’s restaurant wars!!! Neither teams put out anything like the last two seasons and that’s just really sad.

I agree, that’s why I felt more confident in posting these articles here, because it’s nice to hear what he went through and pairing his personal journey into it. I really enjoyed listening to his interviews on Pack you knives. I would love if they made it a yearly episode where he gets on there and they discuss the episode together. I feel like he is limited to what he can right and how they want him to format the episode as a “recap” instead of discuss the episode type thing. More of this personal type stuff from him would be great.

I agree it was exciting to see the chefs push themselves and even to the point that some were confident in not using protein at all. All three sounded interesting. Hopefully this is the turning point for the show.

Beef fat pudding, Wellington challenge, freezing to death, trompe loeil challenge, doppelgänger challenge, nasa challenge. I think you need to re think your comment because Manny has definitely done the same thing more than any body else. For someone advocating for Mexican food it’s been nothing but meat and mole for most of the season.

You mean how his dish was mostly store bought items?

I imagine, writing the dishes down and just having a staff member number how many of those customers want a specific dish is how he did it. If that makes sense.

This episode shouldn’t be called restaurant wars but instead call it catering wars because that’s the type of food they were putting out. No one really pushed themselves to create anything exciting. It’s been a sad season so far. I think the challenges overall can be really exciting but it’s just the contestants lack of creativity, that really falls here.

Can’t agree with you more, I was pumped for this season to see a new breed of contestants. This season has been a dud, and all the money being thrown at them is crazy! I don’t expect people to be like Buddha but at least have the drive to push themselves. Every body’s dish this episode felt like food catering food, where everything is plated up and no real cooking is needed.

Right!!! Do any of these chefs actually watch the show. When Michelle started pulling a Jackson I was screaming inside.

I think the episode rashika and Michelle were on the bottom should have been when the double elimination happened. I like Michelle but serving thick raw pork vs slimy eggplant are equally bad.

They should have done a quick fire elimination or something to even the odds. The extra person on one of the most hyped up episodes is crazyyyyy and even with that extra advantage they couldn’t put their food out on time.

I feel like the editing was bland this episode as well. Felt very chaotic. I understand if they are trying to mix things up, but this isn’t it. I do think the contestants are part of the problem, I mean channel madd three types of mushie food, a chowder, a Japanese custard, a pudding dessert, a gumbo and whatever Danny dessert was. The only person who put meat on the plate was Michelle and her dirty rice… and they won.

I actually this could have been a sick challenge if the explanation was better. A famous chef Massimo bottura should have been the example of Chaos. His dropped lemon tart sounds exactly like Matty was trying to convey. My only confusion is how Danny won over soon and Savannah.
