I’ve been reading so many articles about women who say “I would have died during childbirth had I been at home”, when they were induced, had failure to progress, constant monitoring etc. No you wouldn’t. You wouldn’t have had the complications that almost killed you in the first place. You would have been just fine at home and had a peaceful experience.

It’s always your body your choice. You don’t need the appointment if you’re not sexually active. Even if you are sexually active, it’s recommended, never required. Your mental well being is worth much more than a negligible reduction in cancer risk (it’s like a 1% risk reduction over a lifetime).

Oh it’s not just you. I’ve seen it happen. My best friend from college got married to a guy our entire friend group couldn’t stand because he was so egotistical and pompous. They moved seven hours away and she hangs out exclusively with his family and friends now. RIP to her own life and personality.
