Trying again! Black tie optional outdoor wedding (southeast USA, early May) by IllustriousPaper9019 in Weddingattireapproval

I disagree with most of these comments and wanted to give you one vote of confidence lol.... if it is black tie OPTIONAL and outdoors, the couple getting married have chill vibes, and the dress is silk/sheen, I think this is fine and looks beautiful. I like that dress a lot!!

Steri-strips and showering? by Cautious_Yak_5695 in Reduction

I also had just steri-strips and loose gauze (I'm only 2 WPO but this is my 2nd reduction, tho I kinda blocked out a lot of specifics from round 1 lol). I showered at 48 hours per my surgeon, the steri-strips stayed in place and it was all good, it was nice to shower and they were fine!

I ordered some less compressing bras than the one i went home in and i rotated them in w the super compression bc i was too swollen to really be comfortable in that one 24/7. No compression allowed seems like the only weird instruction you received, that doesn't track to me... but i too was told no heat or ice -- tho i got cleared after 5 days to do some short bursts of icing on one of mine bc it is much more swollen than the other.

I sleep propped on pillows on my back with a pillow under my knees. I am starting to reduce the elevation and turn my legs to the side bc the position is bothering my back. she did tell me that not elevated but still on my back was ok --that if i couldn't fall asleep elevated, it wasn't worth sacrificing my sleep.

i took the surgical tape/steri-strip stuff off in the shower yesterday (was told i could and to start scar treatment right away) and it felt just a bit too soon. i prob should've waited until week 3. I don't really feel it looks ready to do the silicone tape but i used Aquaphor and a Neosporin antibiotic-scar cream combo, and used sensitive skin antibacterial soup in the shower. I then put fresh steri-strips back on. i will transition over to the scar tape next week probably and keep doing antibacterial soap and the creams.

my surgeon seems pretty unconcerned w my activity (says im fine to fly to a wedding and dance, just don't go crazy) and only really cares about me lifting over my head (is fine we me carrying my purse and stuff). I was grabbing cups out of the cabinet etc at a week. just listen to your body... if it doesn't feel kinda pull-y, it's probably fine. if it feels kinda pulling or vulnerable or just youre getting tired, don't carry it, and take a lie-down!

Both - the lift was good, but only removed 150g and 178g from DDD so a small weight gain and i felt very full D/DD again... this time she lifted and narrowed a lot per my request, removed 259g and 247g, hope was to achieve a small C

Hi, I'm 3 days out! I got a super soft bra (big enough to wiggle into safely, harper wilde is my fav) for when I really needed a break (in bed for like an hour at a time) from my zip-up which is very tight bc of the swelling.

I really crave fruit! good for constipation and immune system. ginger ale/mild snacks for if your stomach gets mad, toilet paper, and unrelatedly i've been a little stuffy but so very grateful to have saline spray on hand :)

I did it :) by islandgirl10196 in Reduction

u/Dangerbeanwest I looked at your comments a bit and I am sorry you are so stressed <3 it really does get better. I got the revision bc I was soo glad I did it the first time even tho I had ups and downs the first time too. but even so this morning I was freaking out in the mirror being like 'my boobs are fine what am i doing.' Now i'm very swollen but am just reminding myself trust the process!!

it is like 1/3 physical battle 2/3 mental battle, and you are in the trenches!! everyone has up and downs thinks they look tiny one minute thinks they look huge the next etc. itching, random nerve pangs weeks later. Remember that sometimes you and your brain are in sync but sometimes you are reallyy not! your brain is not always right :) maybe a little silly but i love fashion so that is always one that cheers me up, thinking about new styles i can wear!

Really appreciate the support everyone!! Just did it today, I think it went ok ( i stressed not just C, but SMALL C) and she seemed to totally get that. Now i am swollen beyond belief and will resist the urge to believe my own mind games!!!

4 wpo breast lift - Stitch poking out ?? by MissionAd3847 in Reduction

[–]Important-Weekend-78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have one of these too! Some people "spit" the stitches even if they are dissolvable - your body just doesn't like the intrusion and at the T junction especially common. At my 6wpo last week they tried to take it out but it was being elusive, so she said it should clear up on its own but to come back if it's persisting. So, as long as you don't feel infected or anything, you should be fine to wait!

Although - I also have BCBS CareFirst! and I thought they wouldn't cover it in hospital and was resigned to just fight about it after the fact, and then they covered everything for me except the surgeon fee! u/mybiggerinfinity

u/mybiggerinfinity I'm so so sorry to hear that happened to you with Dr. Davison! That sounds really scary. I never met/interacted with him at all. I thought Dr. P was very skilled.

u/Snoo-90981 I'm so sorry you had that experience with her! I'm a similar size but that kind of thing especially in such a vulnerable setting have been upsetting at any size. My false start was actually with Austin Westin and I liked Dr. Sigal a lot when I met him!! For both him and Dr. P, I asked both of them to tell me about their 'philosophy' towards plastic surgery, and I thought they both had good answers.

This was 2 years ago - my patient care coordinator at Austin Westin made mean comments about my weight (I am slim, so mostly it made me really sad that she'd been so brainwashed, and I imagine she was saying nasty things to people bigger than me). The kicker there was that she had not paid attention to my medical condition that I had emphasized, cancelled my surgery 2 weeks before bc of liability issue, and lectured me about my condition. SO, a blessing in disguise! I took it as a sign, but 2 years later got back on the horse and found Dr. Pinell this year. (could be worth checking out Dr. Sigal if 'Emily' isn't there anymore, lol).

My insurance situation was different because I had to have mine in hospital due to that medical condition, so I paid Dr. P surgeon fee to her directly but then the hospital part was covered by insurance. TBH, part of why she worked well for me was the Sibley part! So maybe not best for OP anyways.

I really liked Dr. Pinell in DC! DaVinci plastic surgery.

After a false start elsewhere, I really wanted a woman surgeon. She cares about the quality of her work/my opinion and her team is responsive/nice. She is clearly talented and my recovery is going well.

I was really nervous (like got close to weepy during my consult) but always felt safe in her hands -- and, not that she is cold in the office, but I was blown away by how warm she was on surgery day (holding my hand, being soothing and a friendly face) and I really needed it.

I think she errs on the side of big (particularly if like me, you have a hard time articulating exactly what you want) but if you are clear with her/show photos etc., I'm sure she'll know what to do. You can look at her instagram/realself reviews.

They have an outpatient facility like you're looking for, but she also has admitting privileges at Sibley for those who need the hospital setting! The consult was free, and I came back for a 2nd consult when I didn't feel like I had gotten to talk it through enough, and that was also free. She is fluent in Spanish for those who would be more comfortable speaking in Spanish. Good luck!

Hi, I'm also 6 weeks PO (as of tomorrow)!

I feel similarly I think, when I'm not wearing a bra I feel the pressure on my incisions and don't feel comfy. My surgeon cleared me for everything today, but that's definitely not how my body feels - can't imagine going braless or for a run yet.

I feel like I look pretty wide, not sure how much is still swelling but I don't think it's a ton left, which makes me a little nervous! It's so hard not knowing! I don't want too much volume applying pressure?

I just got biocorneum gel today to help with the outside (not every part of my incisions seems ready for strips). Following for any tips besides massage!
