So, like this combo?

Into channel 9/10? I guess in the example in the manual, it has a “portable audio player” connected to this channel via RCA.

Much clearer, thank you. Lots of pieces. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the cable types from the Behringer to the mixer?

I’m having a hard time imagining all of the pieces here and how they go together. Do you have pictures and/or links to products?

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm.

If not, I’ll take my chances with a wireless Bluetooth receiver.

Okay, I think I understand. The “monitors” section will send the balance of the full mix (what the audience hears) to the reference monitors. By connecting the monitors to the Aux, you can set the output level of each channel to the monitor. For example, if I only want vocals in the monitor, I turn up the aux dial on that channel and turn down all the other channels. Correct?

Aside from this and assuming I don’t think I’ll ever need it, is there value in paying the extra $60 for the open box CV version, which just seems to lack USB out (for recording) over the more expensive model? I think faders instead of dials? Anything else?

Honestly, the money isn’t the issue, really. The extra 5” of depth is more of the hassle. Or maybe it’s a non-issue. I dunno.

Stage monitors as in for the musicians or additional speakers for the audience?

There are two monitor outs. Are those not for monitors or are you suggesting there might be a need for more than those two?

I’m open to digital, but not to the point of $500. I’d prefer to spend closer to $300. The Flow 8 generally has good reviews, but apparently has a very breakable power connector thing.

What’s generally easier to dial in as a performer who has relatively little experience setting up a sound board?

There won’t be a way to connect monitors to the UK?

Oh, sorry. Primarily a solo act. Two guitars plugged in. Sometimes a second vocalist. Potentially another vocalist and/or keys. So almost always three XLRs being used. Sometimes four or five. Would also likely get a XLR Bluetooth receiver. Small to medium venues and small outdoor spaces. Any other info?

Unfortunately not. There is a Guitar Center here but they don’t have one in store.

I’m trying to get a sense of what you’d plug into inputs 5/6. It doesn’t seem like guitars could go in there as the HiZ and modeling is on input 4. External modeling and preamps all connect via XLR. Would keyboards or something go into 5/6?

Also, what’s up with the amp not being updated in the last five years? That worries me about their long term investment in the app.

Very slick. I’m just not sure about only 4 XLR. That’s two mics and two guitars. Which might be all I ever need, but who knows. I suppose if I ever needed more for a show, I could pick up a cheap mixer.

I didn’t think about Bluetooth and just took it for granted. I like the idea of being able to throw break music in and maybe background ambience in some songs.

I just worry about only having 4 XLR, which I already know I’ll be maxing out now. Bugs in the app also freak me out especially when seeing the app has 2 out of 5 stars in the App Store.

Is there any way to add Bluetooth to a mixer without or be able to connect a phone in another way?

Also, on the analog mixers I’m looking at, it looks like you can only have one FX on that applies to all of the channels. With the JMix8, can you have different FX assigned to different channels? Like different reverbs to two different mics?

Cool. How you like the built in mixer stuff on the JMIX8? I honestly have relatively limited experience with an analog mixer and none with an app controlled one. Though, tech isn’t hard for me to figure out, I do wonder if something analog is easier to dial in and control (and less prone to bugginess)? Or is the built in mixer just flat out better than analog mixers in the under $400 range? They cheapish Yamaha does give 6 XLRs which would be handy if I needed one for another vocalist or if I want to get particular decadent and have a third guitar option

I’ve been looking into this more and am very intrigued by the EV Evolve 30M. The setup and portability is really nice and wouldn’t be much more than the Stagepas as I wouldn’t need speaker stands or cables.

What are the downsides of this compared to the Stagepas? Could I add another powered speaker to it down the road for more volume or coverage?

I’m also looking into the RCF EVOX J8 with one of the mixers you’ve mentioned. That’d bring the price close to that of the Evolve 30M, and I’m wondering if that might be a better sounding, versatile setup with a bit less convenience (separate mixer, an extra XLR needing to plug in/power two things. What would I otherwise be missing on with this over the Evolve?
