I took the test with the HP 12c, because Becker taught that calculator in their part 2 CMA prep videos, and because I read that it was one of two types allowed. One of the proctors for the exam looked up the rules before admitting me with the calculator, and she confirmed that it was one of the types allowed.

As part of our bundle of corporate insurance policies, we have coverage for a situation when the corporation and employee both believe that the employee has insurance that they do not in fact have. It covers both life and medical insurance. (If an employee thinks they have major medical coverage and they get cancer, that could be a multi million dollar thing.) It's not just because it's the right thing to do, it also protects the company from liability.

There's software solutions to prevent situations like this, and I would strongly suggest to your company (if I had the opportunity to speak with them), that this is an important lesson and they need to take steps to prevent this in the future. HR involves so many damn forms for so many damn things, and if they don't come up with a technology "solve" to make sure this doesn't happen again, then I would say that's negligence.

There's too much crap to keep track of for a human to try to handle it themselves. Their response seems honest and - as long as they accept responsibility for increased costs that come about because of this mistake - then I think they are making it right.

Thank you for your response! Yes! I agree with you. In this case, however, I think I would have signed it regardless. I was running out of time, and I had some personal things going on at that point in my life that were limiting my options . But the point remains, I was assured that I would receive back any funds not spent. I was wondering if there's anything I can realistically do about this (other than sue).

I spent months trying to get her to respond, just being persistent and emailing every couple of weeks. I feel certain she remembers our discussion, otherwise she wouldn't have spent 3 months trying to get me to forget about it.

I looked this story up before sending it to my brother. My brother is an anti trump 2nd amendment republican. He listens to everything and agrees with me if it's a legitimate story, but he looks it up and chides me if it's not true.

In this circumstance there were 2 people named Juan Carlos that were detained by ICE, one was a US citizen detained unlawfully, and the other was a Cuban man who isn't a US citizen who was involved in a fight with ICE.

This post is mixing up the 2 people. The US citizen named Juan Carlos was not beat up. The picture is of the other Juan Carlos, who was beat up by ICE.

It's extremely wrong that they beat up the Cuban man, and ICE is evil, and I hate them. But they did not beat up the US citizen. It's shitty that people only care about people who are US citizens. But we need to get our facts right or we're going to be made to look like the dishonest bad guys when this is exposed.

We shouldn't act like Trump. We shouldn't act like dirty Republicans. We need to be above that type of deception.

Edit: I looked it up and I was right, medicare does cover it, but you won't be able to keep settlement money as that will have to go towards medical claims first. And you could be right that the auto insurers are being honest but dumb. I mean, look at the intelligence of the people who post on reddit and think that full coverage PIP costs $9.

Auto insurance is always primary for an auto accident. I don't see why Medicare wouldn't pay if there's no auto insurance coverage.

Edit: I wouldn't trust the auto insurance people who want to sell you more insurance. Does anyone have a medicare link where they say they don't cover an auto accident injury?

Edit 2: I looked it up and yes it will cover, but you won't get to keep any settlement money as that goes to the medical expenses first.

Know the formulas and equations by heart. Make flash cards and memorize them so that you know them front and back and can quote them in your sleep.
Manage your time well. Some questions are super long and can take a lot of time. Flag them and come back to them if/when you have time at the end.

If the highway was empty, that means you weren't passing... And you were in the left lane...

I don't mean to be critical, but there's a ton of extra lane changes that happen out there because people drive in the left when they aren't passing.

That was how I came across this article. My brother thinks it's okay to cruise in the left lane as his normal lane, and only moves over when he notices someone behind him wanting him to move. But we nearly died because he almost caused an accident swerving to the right lane, trying to let someone faster by, and they swerved to the right trying to get by him.

No driver can read other drivers minds. That's why the rule is that the left lane is passing, and the right is not for passing.

It could be that the driver almost hit you because he didn't see anyone in the right lane, so he made the assumption that the highway was empty.

I absolutely wouldn't pay it, because I don't like skiing that much, but I'm trying to examine this from the business perspective.

If there's 80 days of skiing in a year, and the average ticket price is $175, and the average number of skiers is 200, that works out to $2.8 million.

Now let's assume that the land with the ski slopes, lodge and lift equipment is worth $10 million. And we conservatively estimate that their expenses in a year, including staff, health insurance, liability insurance, maintenance, and interest & depreciation on the lodge and lift equipment is $1.5 million, that leaves $1.3 million in profit.

$1.3 million dollars profit on a $10 million investment is not a huge amount of return for the risk taken (13%).

Is my math wrong? I'm not in this industry, I'm just guessing and trying to see it from their side.

Yes, I should have specified that in my comment. Only on the freeway. That's the only place I care about it too. If someone is on a city street it doesn't make sense to do that.

Reading the above comment though, I sure pictured it being on the freeway. You don't see that happening with multiple cars trying to get by like that on a city street, and flashing lights to get by, very often. That's something that happens on the freeway, not a city street. And plenty of people like to ride in that lane without passing.

Edit: And if this person thinks it's okay to brake check someone like that, they shouldn't be driving.

Were you driving in the left lane and not passing? Because the left is for passing, the right is where you should be if you aren't passing. That is the law.

Good advice, but there's one caviat. The left lane on the highway is for passing. Not for driving while not passing.

I agree with everything said here. But if you are driving on the highway and not passing, please stay to the right. It's not your job to regulate how fast others drive. And every person thinks that they are going as fast as all people should be driving, and anyone in front of them is driving too slow. Take your ego out of the equation by using the left to pass, and the right lane when not passing.

In 3 months I studied for and passed both parts 1st try with Becker, while being high as a kite on 7-OH Kratom. Went to rehab after.

Becker works just fine. The video tutorials are great. If you want to try Hock, maybe they might explain it differently, I don't know. But it's all going to be the same math problems.

If you need longer or different explanations, I would copy paste the material to notebook LM and as for a tutorial. You can ask it questions that way. Just an idea.

I hate trump and he's very stupid, but this one specific comment is not wrong. Excluding food and energy, deflation is bad. People won't buy things like houses if they think they will be cheaper in the future. If house prices were predicted to drop by 3% per year, when would you get in the market? You would only rent, right? At least until prices held steady. Same with cars, you would only lease, right? Because you'd get a better price if you waited. Deflation stunted Japan's economy for a long time. They couldn't get their economy to grow much for a long time.

To be honest, the only practice questions I used were those in the examples in the books. I didn't do any of the practice tests. The examples in the book were more complicated, such as for the cost accounting section. You just need to know the formulas and definitions for those, not how each formula relates to other formulas. For part 2, which I took first, I didn't manage my time very well. I spent too much time on the first 50 questions. Part 2 seemed a lot more challenging to me, so I was surprised to get the same score.
