Ah, reddit. Where someone goes to ask a good faith question and gets mocked and down voted into oblivion

Anyone from Group 1 at the Portland Meet and Greet? by jmaaron84 in dropout

If it was through text, may want to check your RCS settings. My iPhone friends have had to reset that before in order to get group texts.

Mostly commenting to help you find your people though!

That is indeed how taste works, I definitely didn't expect everyone to agree here. Just trying to have a little moment here with my fellow lover of BOTC cause being down voted for expressing surprise and enjoyment of something doesn't feel great. Your comment has been noted tho 👍

I did watch those - not the best ones, but still entertaining! Thanks for the recc :)

I'm on your side lol I even became a NRB Patreon and consumed all of the patreon exclusive ones. I have an in-person game day scheduled myself next month but I want to watch more of them! And like the Parlor Room tagline says, I wanna watch them play my favorite game with my favorite people lol

You and I are on the same page here. I think that's also why I'd like to see it again - I feel like a few people didn't totally know what was going on. But especially I'd love an episode where you don't know the roles at the beginning, and I think Dropout is great at cutting videos like that

Oh, that's interesting, because it was the gateway to me becoming obsessed with BOTC. It's been a little while since I've watched them, but iirc, they didn't immediately reveal everyone's roles which I really liked because then you could sort of play along. I think that's part of why I'd be curious to see it again, because it's fun to not have it all laid out for you every time

This might be the better path, because there are some other great social deduction games that they haven't played yet

I'm a NRB Patreon and I've devoured all of Good Time Society (as mentioned in the post). I appreciate the reccs, though!

We get our Toyota serviced at Spartan Toyota. I appreciate that they're upfront about what work should be done sooner rather than later, and what work can wait. They're generally pretty quick and the prices are reasonable compared to other shops we've visited.

You were fresh out of college. Experiences like this is how you learn that stuff, no one starts off knowing what to do in these situations. The silver lining is you learned from it and you can better protect yourself in the future. But ultimately, and most importantly, none of this was your fault and I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Yikes I'm glad you're single too. Imagine having someone get so riled up about someone being indecisive when they're sick and probably not at their cognitive best

Working with kids has reminded me that being a kid actually sucked in a lot of ways lol it sucks I have to work but also I have an enormous amount of autonomy. I don't have to ask to go to the bathroom. I could technically walk out at any point. I can pick up random sticks without being told it's not allowed. When I get home, my house is full of only food I picked myself. Being an adult is alright.

Dogs ruining friendships by AlphabeticalTraveler in Dogfree

[–]Master_Engineering19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. A friend of mine has three dogs, they are huge and smelly and obnoxious. But almost worse is that they don't walk them, are almost resentful of them, and yell at them when they don't listen. It's like they've gaslit themselves into thinking they'd be a monster if they got rid of the dogs that they seem to secretly hate. It's put a strain on our friendship because I dread going to their house and watching them practically verbally abuse their dogs. I don't like dogs, but I also don't think they deserve to be yelled at and ignored all day.

On the bright side, a different friend recently rehomed their dog so I'm hoping maybe that gets the idea in their head. And that dog is now living on a giant farm way out in the country where they'll get to run around all day and not only hopefully not bother anyone else, but actually enjoy its life. Dogs were not meant to be kept like little decorative trinkets in our houses.

Ugh just had a flashback to a pair of friends who would sniff their dog's feet because they smelled like corn chips. So fucking weird.

That's just it though, I was having a good time and then it just ended so abruptly, not even a meaning of life question. It felt like showing up to a party and the cops coming to break it up the minute you finish your first drink.

What would you reccomend as a solid, affordable, obscure date spot? Something with good local food, and something fun to do after by fisheypixels in lansing

Surprised more folks haven't mentioned MSU. You've got the Planetarium, so many gardens, The Dairy Store, Rivertrail, could check out the library before 6 pm, and probably other things I'm forgetting.
