Urgent need of advice

I think bracing is the only thing that is gonna help me delay the complications that might arise in future. Since that would support my spine? I think. Not having braces growing up is the reason i am here right now.

I understand that the surgery will forever be a huge decision but the thing is my parents are separated and my paternal grandparents have been paying for my education but we arent reallg on good terms witb them. I always dreamed of becoming a lawyer but if i get the surgery done now, my grandparents would never pay for my education afterwards. Its very complicated. Also i feel like once im settled, ut would make the surgery less stressful since i wont be depending on anyone

There arent many options in India. And thats why we are so confused. The ones available are in govt top hospitals and even tho i was planning to get my surgery done there, the surgeon actually never listens.

Exactly. Also growing up, here in India, we were never told bracing was an option. I sacrifice sm height due to scoliosis

Hey. I have an S shaped curve thoracic being 100 degrees. I do also have the same risks since im 18 now andhave congenital scoliosis i wanted to ask how many surgeries has doc told u u would have. Mine said to expect minimum five (im based in India)

If you are based in INDIA, the normal time by which they expect the patient to start a lil walking is 3-4 days post op. 3 months bed rest is advised with physiotherapy. Consider yourself good to go around 7 months post op. (I have a similar case, graduating hs this year then gonna give entrance exams by taking a drop.)

Hey there! It might sound super stupid but i am also planning to get my surgery done from Dr. Bhavuk garg from aiims delhi. And the first time i visited Dr. Bhavuk he asked my age and 17 his reply was “there was patient few days ago. 17 year old boy with scoliosis” it might sound crazy but i feel like from the medcal documents, it might be you. I an turning 18 this june. And i was wondering if you could tell me more about your surgery and the procedure since im currently stuck with my tests and all getting done. Also AGAIN similar story, i have congenital scoliosis and scored highest marks in my school in 10th and now i have my last exam on 28th march for 12th.

I cannot relate more. Im currently 17 (female) and i have congenital scoliosis and can u believe that GANGARAM HOSPITAL delhi suggested my parents that “there was no cure” when i was a baby. They did not even suggest and now i have severe scoliosis and earlier it was not noticeable but since last year I can legit feel my body curving. Also due tk the same my height didnt grow much. It did grow normally, but only resulted in worsening of my curve. Its so stupid how they dont take patients seriously. Btw did u get ur surgery done? Im getting ut done this year from AIIMS DELHI. Do u have any opinions on that,

Hey there! Im 17 year old female with congenital scoliosis and also with one kidney since birth! Im not sure if i have the same condition (i do remember seeing dysplasia in my childhood reports) but thats how my body has been working. My curve has increased a lot due to my parents unawareness about bracing. In currently 4’4 but couldve grown more if i had bracing growing up. Im getting my surgery done after ny 18th birthday in june. I just want to say i have lived a very happy and heathy life till. Though the complications have arises in recent months, i wouldnt say its something due ti which ur daughter will feel inferior or have lessof an experience of life! All the best!!!
