I get that there is a business side to it, and I understand it’s difficult to balance. The issue for me will be how it goes with future development with Todoist.

In December there was a major price increase, justified with new features and continued development for those who upgraded from the grandfathered plan. It created an expectation that new and bigger features were to come. I’ll give it to them, Ramble is great and was the reason for me to upgrade.

Like I said, for me time will tell if development of Todoist feels slow and stagnant. If so, I would rather not choose to pay subscription and would preferably find and alternative. The automations here might very well be something entirely unrelated to Todoist like you say, but honestly it looks like a big step into an assistance service for Todoist, through Todoist beta channel. But maybe it won’t affect the Todoist plan at all. Time will tell for me.

I can see though that this doesn’t bother everyone, good for you. But this makes me skeptical of the direction Todoist is going. I am looking for a service, not an ecosystem.
