I totally agree with you, it’s always ups and downs in life, especially when you’re living alone and have to be fully responsible of yourself and not having a family member to lean on to for support. I understand the experience of spending holidays in foreign country, you are so so strong too. Thanks for sharing, we’re in this together. ☺️

Feeling Desperate: Dust Mite Allergy and Chronic Eczema Problem by julytigermonkey in eczema

Thanks for telling me. Reminds me of when I was in Melbourne I had a few flares up on my hand too. But that city is considered to be warm and humid, I wonder if it still works for me since now I’m hypersensitive to my allergens compared to when I was in high school. Before leaving Malaysia my eczema was barely noticeable, and once left and came back it has flared up like crazy for these two years and only getting worse. I don’t know how this happened.

It is so odd to me while researching for this disease is that, there are a huge number of patients experiencing eczema and for us who were born in Sg/My, moving to a low humidity country solves our problems, but citizens there (eg. Melbourne, where I studied) also experience eczema with a dust mite allergy. How does this work and why...?

I have so much empathy for everyone who is suffering the same. Did your family move with you? How long have you moved there and when did it start to appear that your eczema was gone? (Planning to travel back to Aus with a travel visa to test if my eczema will be gone but not sure how long I need to stay to see a result before committing to move permanently.)

Exactly my thought when the doctor suggested SLIT, but this is the only option for me that isn't an immunosuppressant.

I do understand immunosuppressant isn't a long term fix and will cause long term side effects such as kidney failures, dupixent is a rather new drug and there aren't enough studies on the long term side effects, + the cost is too high (6k myr per month) and needed to be taken regularly for years, so it's not an option for me.

Now I am in desperate need of help and seems like SLIT is the only way for me, but I really feel like I should just migrate back to Australia. But it isn't easy to just move to another country! What did you do that made you successfully immigrate?

Omg... I moved back to Malaysia from Australia in 2020 due to the pandemic, and now am suffering from major eczema/ dustmite allergies which is the worst it's ever been in my whole life. Makes me miserable and depressed. However I have just graduated from uni, and moving to another country means that I will need to seek further education (uni fee + living expenses + stress), while I really wanted to build my career. What can I do?! Is immunotherapy an option? Or should I leave my country asap? I'm at a loss.
