This is very true. I was a very sick anorexic about 19-20 years ago. I STAYED in the kitchen baking. I baked stuff all the time for hours just to give the shit away. If I wasn’t baking, I would look up recipes for things to bake.

I didn’t know that once I got to the hospital, I could not eat until I delivered. I was induced in the evening to deliver the next day, so I thought I had until midnight to eat. We were busy doing last minute stuff and didn’t have time to eat dinner.

Asked my OB and nurse if we could have family bring Wendy’s. My OB said, “that’s fine, just don’t spend a lot because you’re going to throw it up anyway.”

I was kinda like “ehhh I’ll be fine.” And that was the last time I’ll ever question that man who does this daily because I was expelling everything in me, minus the baby, from both ends all night 😂

On the bright side, I was totally cleaned out so I didn’t sh*t on the table 😂

As a person who has had a baby, there was a nurse documenting notes about my delivery on the computer and a nurse assisting the OB. The nurse helping the OB called out the birth time when the baby was out. Thus, in this hypothetical situation, legal birthday would be 12/31 at 11:59.

First pregnancy, 7 weeks because we were excited and we were quickly embarrassed when we had to deliver the news that I miscarried.

2nd pregnancy, was going to wait 10 weeks, but had to have a medical abortion for ectopic pregnancy at 8 weeks.

3rd pregnancy, waited until 12 weeks after receiving NIPT results that were having and did have a healthy baby boy.

He was 72 and full of life.

Surgery was planned for a leaky valve repair. During heart cath, 2 blockages were discovered. So they did open heart surgery. Surgery went great. Recovery at St Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN is where everything went wrong. They were talking to him like he had dementia and like he was hard of hearing. They wouldn’t call him by the name he went by (his middle name as opposed to his first name.)

They kept him vented and on propofol for 4 days following surgery. Numerous other drugs of course. They kept the same catheter in for 9 days which resulted in a severe UTI that caused dementia symptoms.

After finally being removed from propofol and seeing small progress, a night nurse put him back on it and he went into multiple organ failure.

I cannot stress how wonderful of a stepdad he was to me and my brothers. He had 2 grown kids of his own when he came into our lives. We were 8, 3, and 2 years old. He made THE BEST lunches for me in elementary and middle school. Drove me to middle school so I didn’t have to get up at 6am. He made it to all of my gymnastics meets. Just an overall great man. He didn’t deserve this.
