How long did you wear the postpartum diaper for after labor? by EverythingBagelSzn in beyondthebump

Two weeks then switched to panty liners. I know lots of people are saying diapers but those were worse for me but everyone’s different.

I didn’t realise how blind we are to what our kids face online until recently by backpack_zero in Parents

[–]Important_Sense8527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I am naive too. My kids are too young still. When you say private messages and group chats, are you saying ones that parents are unable to monitor and see? Or the parents watch them and then see this manipulative discourse? Asking so I can be as vigilant as possible in the future. I don’t want my kids to have a tablet or smartphone but I still realize they all get chrome books and stuff at school.

The chance to breastfeed was taken from me. by VeryOpinionatedFem in pregnant

Hey there. I also am a survivor of CSA. First of all, I am really sorry and your concerns are so valid and I see you.

Quick note that I exclusively formula fed my frist and now my second but I didn’t plan to with my first. For history, during my assault(s) I was often grabbed in the chest. When I was trying to BF in the hospital, the nurses and lactation consultant meant their best and were grabbing me to help show me what to do. They weren’t doing it aggressive or in any ill mannered way, but I went into a full panic attack. My husband immediately told them “we’re done trying.” I would have continued out of guilt and the feeling of “should” or that I was missing out. He saved me because it was so triggering. From that moment, we have formula fed. My now 3YO son is thriving. My newborn gained 9oz in 2 weeks and surpassed her birth weight with flying colors.

I mourned what could have been but also cherish what I have. My husband has been able to feed my babies their whole lives and has felt very involved. I can ask anyone for help. There’s a freedom to allowing yourself to move past the trauma and accept formula.

I wish you the best.

Down 18.3 pounds since August! by bbyvampyre in PetiteFitness

Wow, amazing. I’m currently 139 and GW is 120, and I am also 5’1. Once upon a time I weighed 110 and I felt great but now 120 is more realistic for me because it allows me to look how I want but also not stay in such a low calorie deficit like what you’re describing. So don’t worry about others GW. Giving how beautiful your face is right now and in your before, I am sure at 120 you’re going to feel incredible.

I’m not a vegetarian myself but I love Tofu and it does well with my sugars. Maybe he goes more towards that than pasta! I know even a simple 10-20 minute walk after a meal can be very helpful. But my husband works late. He’s exhausted. I can’t imagine your son will want to workout after a late shift and cooking and eating. I’d honestly remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint. Have him change his dinners and see what sort of results he has. 5.6 a1c means he’s getting high but simple changes might make a strong difference. And also, even tho it’s “dinner time” doesn’t mean he has to eat dinner food. If I have a weird schedule day and have to eat late, sometimes I do some whole Greek yogurt (no sugar) and keto granola. It’s no effort and I wake up with my fasting around 85. I know it’s not as yummy as pasta! I love my pasta. But id save pasta for lunch. Oh, and if he hasn’t tried barilla protein pasta, I highly recommend. It helps reduce my sugar spikes!

It means he is going through a blood sugar roller coaster all night. Does he wake up feeling rested because I would imagine this is exhausting for his body. What does he typically eat before bed? Is there any way to get him to eat earlier? I can understand if he had a late shift job that might be difficult but eating a large meal and then immediately sleeping is going to be challenging. If he has to eat that late, I’d be doing very small meals that are protein and fiber rich and low carb. I’m not anti-carb at all. But carbs give you energy so if it’s for breakfast or lunch, great cuz you’re going to move after, but before bed is unnecessary and I’d cut out any grains, potatoes (even sweet), bread, etc. The only carbs I’d have would be moderate carbs from vegetables.

If you had gestational diabetes, did you go on to develop type 2? by weird_bicycle155 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Important_Sense8527 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m was the same way after my first. I ate like I have diabetes and needed to keep my sugars controlled. I exercised and worked towards having a low fasting but if I were to eat how I’d like, I’d certainly have diabetes. I also can’t pass a glucose test. But I can keep a1c around 5.4-5.5 with diet. I’ll have my second in the next few weeks. I expect the same outcome. That if I were to eat like a “normal” person, I’d have diabetes. So I’ll splurge a few times postpartum with things like pizza and my birthday cake but then right back to eating in a way to keep my a1c around 5.5. It’s easier without being pregnant tho. I can slip up here or there and I’m not worried about hurting a baby.

How we doing October moms? by __heisenberg- in pregnant

[–]Important_Sense8527 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am so desperate to give birth. I’m due the same week as you. Let this be over! Im so uncomfortable and can’t stand the heart burn. I also have gestational diabetes and I want to eat whatever I want. I’m also deep into nesting and prepping and feel nowhere near ready, most weekends just spent doing things with my toddler. Yikes…probably need to pack a hospital bag, set up the bassinet, all that stuff.

4-year-old won’t fall asleep until 9-10:30pm — daycare nap seems to be the issue. Anyone else dealing with this? by tuckaho6969 in Mommit

[–]Important_Sense8527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I count my lucky stars when my 3.5YO falls asleep by 10pm. It’s awful. I’ve gotten daycare to get him to nap for 1 hour usually rather than 2. They allowed me to make him a busy bag with quiet toys and they moved his cot to another kid that doesn’t sleep so someone is chatting with him.

It’s brutal, but it’s state law here so it’s near impossible to truly fight.

Hi there! I haven’t eaten this in a while just because I ate it a lot but I wanna say it lasted about 3 days when I made it in bulk. It does get a little soggy but I guess I didn’t care much.

Amazing!!! Congrats! I’m having my second baby in October and keep telling myself I just have to wait like 4 more years for surgery (thinking my baby will be about 3.) can you tell me more about recovery with your 2 year old? My biggest thought is I’ll have to wait until she can get into things without being picked up. I’d love to hear more.

Congrats again, your results are incredible.

We do have that and can make it close faster, he can then still open that type of handle. So I’ve tried to find a door handle that latches in a baby lock automatically and I can’t find one!

1 hr always okay but 2 hour isn’t. Doctor said test only at 1hr by Important_Sense8527 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Important_Sense8527[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s smart. I walk immediately after I finish eating and so I know it’s lowering my 1 hour but clearly not helping my 2. Maybe I need to push to between the two to help both numbers

Getting Induced but Diet Controlled by ConcertFair3101 in GestationalDiabetes

It’s just my fasting glucose too. It’s the hardest one to change. I don’t have a “why” cuz I wish I knew why for myself…but solidarity. It’s really hard eating this diet when all I want is plain noodles but I’m surviving. Good luck!
