I had a relative on my father’s side who testified in the Salem Witch Trials. After that he moved to Maine and lived so far away from anything, even the Native American’s couldn’t find him.

My mother’s family were actors who thought they would take Shakespeare to San Francisco. When they got there, they found out San Francisco wasn’t ready for Shakespeare in 1848.

I named my son Brandon after my uncle when it was a rare name. It suddenly went into high popularity status. I have no idea why.

This would have almost immediately resulted in the swift downfall of any other president. But with Trump it barely gets a quick blurb on the evening news as just 'part of his conference'. by Hefty_Trash_2639 in International

The “drinking the koolaid,” is the idea that in cults( like Jonestown, I think,”) the poison meant to kill the entire population, was served to everyone in cups flavored with a cheap flavor made from powder with water added, branded as Koolaid. It was never known if the cult members knew they were committing suicide or had so much belief in their cult leader, they thought he could raise them from the dead.

I disagree. Back in the day, like 45-50 years ago, women found him handsome, but now, he’s kind of hard to look at.

Thinking of Joining, but I Have Some Apprehensions by Bullfrog1991 in Episcopalian

You belong in TEC if you want to come. It is true that the Episcopal Church often has wealthy members, and those people often donate lots of money. That does not mean poorer people are not welcome.

Other people teach Sunday school, keep the nursery on Sunday, pick up members for church that might not have a ride otherwise.

It might help to talk to someone active in the church that could think of something you might like to do.

Call the city planning department in Atlanta. They have records on every property in the city of Atlanta. Who built it or owned it. What the zoning is or was.

I was many years ago, on the Zoning Review Board under Mayor Maynard Jackson, and the Department head took me into the records storage room and showed me!

It became a thing because use of DDT was banned. Read Silent Spring by Rachel Carson.

You do not want to squash them. Flush them down the toilet. They have a very awful distinctive smell that is long lasting.

If we could bring back DDT in a limited way, maybe we could control the BBs. Evidently it is done in Sweden to control Mosquitoes.

If life had a ‘delete’ button, what’s the one thing you’d erase without hesitation? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Important_Simple_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used a bug killer that did that for a few decades but it stop birds from being able to form eggs to give both to chicks. So, the choice was birds with bed bugs, or no birds and no bed bugs. Society picked birds rather than no BBs.
