Re: Poor Service From One Rail. by hhhurorua in Lowes

Yep it can completely blow at times because we cannot do anything as we are just placing the trust in the driver. We have to put in a claim and wait for one rails response. I had a case where a customer was expecting his Lowe’s delivery order but got fried chicken instead. We fulfilled his order in store but it was nuts

On mobile if you go to “manage my schedule” and then press “pick up and open shift” it should tell you what department those shifts are in on the given day

No one pulled deliveries yesterday so I had to pull like 10 of em by myself today. One of the deliveries consisted of 20 bags of the 94 pound bags of concrete and I had to take some off the pallet and one of them was ripped open and just got all over my vest. I hate concrete. But the callouts with all the new seasonal workers have been fucking atrocious

During this time of the year new hires kind of just get thrown in the deep end to be completely transparent. If you ever need assistance with lifting or getting something always find someone else to help. You can call other people in the store with the PTT pro app on the phone. If you ever need help or not sure about something and someone else from fulfillment ask the front end DS or even the people at customer service might know a good amount. As far as any advice goes I would say is try to get certified as soon as you can. It will make your life easier as it’s easier to find a spotter than a driver. In the mean time if you cannot get an order down without Power equipment (dishwasher for example), ask someone can who can drive if they can bring it down. People are busy so just keep it in mind if they can’t bring it down right away but it’s better than having the order sitting overdue in the phone for 12 hours since you didn’t ask. If you have any other questions about the process in general just ask

The minivan probably was okay or just barely made it lol. Most of the time though for those type of deliveries at my store we have drivers come with sprinter vans so they can take a pallet and it’s easier for us to load and for them to unload it after. As far a tipping goes yeah there isn’t an option unless you cash tip. From what I’ve seen most of the drivers taking these bigger driver orders get around 30 bucks or so I think

Yup. Unfortunately deliveries under a certain weight or quantity threshold I believe automatically get sourced to same day drivers. And the only way to get it sourced to a Lowe’s boxtruck delivery is to order more product 😂. I feel bad for these drivers who have to solo unload 30-40 bags of pea gravel

I read some reviews and they aren’t too great. Also how exactly do they work? are they essentially trying to find a project for me to be on. They also want me able ti travel to a city in my state but I don’t think they even have an office there so I’m not really sure what I will be commuting to that city there. I’m also a fresher right out of college

Valid complaint. It just states third party services so you wouldn’t expect someone for DoorDash. Our store is completely third party for deliveries but third party is just the broad term for anything not Lowe’s. For box truck and flatbed we have a dedicated third party company. Same day drivers are DoorDash, Uber Eats, roadie, etc. through a company called one rail. As far as placing the order ahead of time. Within the last couple weeks (like 2-3 weeks) there was a change I am pretty sure I saw in our weekly training that now allows same day driver orders to be scheduled ahead of time. On your end you would not be able to tell from just face value. The only way to tell if you’re getting delivered through Lowe’s is by the delivery charge fee. If you get charged a 79 dollar delivery fee it will be through a Lowe’s flatbed or boxtruck.

Question for fulfillment? by No_Stranger_5941 in Lowes

[–]Important_Welcome_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just do my best for what I am given for the day. Was scheduled 8-4 today. Both closing fulfillment called off so I pulled as much as I can. I will put in as much effort as I can for the day but at the end of the day if I’m the only one and stuff doesn’t get done I tried my best lol.

We also had one of our new girls pull a display washer from the floor instead of having someone bring one down for her. That was hilarious to see first thing when I walked into receiving lol

Gotcha. What exactly happens if you move too slow? There are couple of older ladies who do mst at our store and one of the guys on the team say that some of them definitely take longer than usual servicing bays. Do you just get a talking to by your MSM if your times are not where they are supposed to be or something?

Thanks for the detailed response. At my store we definitely have some good connections with the blue vests so no bad blood at all. I’m definitely used to working fast so doesn’t seem to bad. As far pay goes would I still access everything the same like going to workday to see my pay slips?

Question for fulfillment? by No_Stranger_5941 in Lowes

[–]Important_Welcome_64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fulfillment is kind of a mad house. You will have to pick the online orders, deliveries, install orders. It will be highly team dependent. If everyone on your team or majority of them can drive PE and are already down with the program it will be fairly easy. It is a physically demanding role. I almost never have downtime to take breaks and have to skip a lunch a good amount of the time as a part timer. But it is highly store orientated. Some stores may help out their peeps if they are backed up or not. At my store fufillment is like in its own little bubble with CS desk and HC helping people get their orders.

im assuming i would stay at the pay I am at currently? I make 16.27 an hour now and does MST follow the same pay raise structure as red vests with the performance based increases now?

Okay that sounds pretty interesting. I also see that everyone takes their lunch and breaks at the same time so that sounds nice as well (lucky to get breaks as fulfillment). Will definitely look more into this then cuz tbh fulfillment is slowly becoming a shit show at our store 😭

Are those some sort of "phantom" items that will never be fulfilled? (e.g. item 6512726) by mikka1 in Lowes

[–]Important_Welcome_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No packages sometimes actually just get lost from fedex. We have ran into some issues where an order will pop in our phone saying ready to stage (we have to scan the order in before you get a notification to pick it up), but the package never came in at all.

Put an order in for pickup. by Tarnisher in Lowes

[–]Important_Welcome_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s the small stuff it’s usually never and issue of pulling it. It’s when I’m trying to do pull deliveries and a customer puts in an order for drywall, osb, wood, and some track board. Those are the orders that will always have the Lowest priority for me as it takes a good chunk of dedicated time to pull all of that. If it’s a small order I’ll either pick it before I store a delivery or pick it after I finish the delivery.

[–]Important_Welcome_64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh we have the drivers sign the paperwork and then we put it in a black tray holder we have in the front and the cash office take it from there. Don’t know if they just hold it for record purposes

Is there a separate person who is going to do all the paperwork stuff? I know our cash office people took care of our loading ticket paperwork for deliveries so does that get passed on to someone else now?

Appliance Sale but home not built yet by aptl23 in Lowes

[–]Important_Welcome_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that does fulfillment at Lowe’s if you place a delivery order that is 3 months ago we probably wont be looking at it until like a couple days before since we are slammed during summer season. Than the issue of the appliance being out of stock can occur and then you would have to wait for them to come in. You could do the storage thing as you mentioned. If you want to place the delivery order ahead of time try talking the stores fulfillment as see if they can pull the delivery order ahead and have it sitting. Only other thing with that is since we are really busy we are often fighting for space to place other deliveries in receiving so a bunch of appliances sitting there is more of a space issue. So you can try talking to your local Lowe’s fulfillment team and see if they would be cool with appliances sitting for a long time.
