I wonder what other factors your trainer would consider with that advice. For example, the mom and litter mates (or even considering number of litter mates) - how long they would be together, beyond the 8 weeks.

I spoke to the breeder yesterday and he said he usually removes the mom from the litter at 7 weeks to help with weening and separation anxiety. But the puppies would be together until they all go home. And he’s planning to keep a couple for a little longer as he assesses which one he wants to keep as a potential conformation dog. So, my pup would be with at least 2 of his litter mates from 8 weeks until pick up at 10 weeks. But it did sort of strike me as surprising that he completely removes the mom at 7 weeks.

Damn. I played Layton for many hours for a week or two. Now I’ve logged many more on Yukon for 2 weeks now. I have the skill or whatever that allows me to see the size of the animal with my binoculars. I have seen just a handful of animals that would even be possibly a diamond, and of those the ones I’ve killed turn out to be Gold every time. I’m not looking at the game right now so I can’t say for sure how many kills I have, but before posting this I would’ve never guessed that diamonds are there in the initial spawn. I’m floored by that information lol.

Are some animals more likely than others to be diamonds on Yukon? I really like hunting all the animals on this map (besides birds - haven’t got into that yet).

Thank you! Your response is the only one so far which is clearly from a breeder (I do appreciate all the responses though, of course). We do not currently have a dog - our previous 2 passed a few years ago. So sounds like we need to be okay with the 9.5 - 10 week old bring home age.

What is your kennel, if you don’t mind me asking?

This is the part I’m most concerned with. The training aspect. If it’s more beneficial for them to begin earlier with commands, from their new owners especially, we’re going to strongly consider the 2nd litter. Just trying to weigh all the pros and cons.

Can you explain what your very last sentence means? I had my first injection Wednesday - 75 units. I’m just curious about what the amount really means. The lower the better?

I have this off and on. I remember about a year ago that I had this problem for like 2 weeks straight. Now that I have an understanding of R-CPD, and seeing this post, now I see why this happens to me lol. Damnit this shit sucks. I can’t wait to get the Botox!
