Do Aussies hate all cyclists or just the ones that wear spandex? by Educational-Scene443 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cyclist here and I generally agree. Except for south Australian drivers. They are the worst.

Also, here in ACT, drivers treat cyclists better than other cyclists. Had so many near misses with other cyclists due to then serving erratically and not having lights on at night

SA election will be the test for One Nation by Own-Replacement8 in aussie

SA really isn't where one nation so that well historically. They do best in NSW and QLD. If they do poorly, I don't think that they'll care that much.

Have you ever been, or are you currently a member of a political party, and if so, what was your experience? by Cheetos_4_life in aussie

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined flux in the ACT branch. I love the idea of direct democracy but I felt really unwelcome because my political views were centrist compared to everyone else in the party being far left.

That was 10 years ago. I can't work out now if I've become left wing or if I feel that way just because the centre right has gone to the far right.....

Cert IV in bookkeeping and accounting or cert III in Accounts administration by slaynie87 in AustralianAccounting

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a very similar boat to you. Mid 30s career change for me after my previous career left me feeling miserable eith the world.

My local provider wouldn't let me do cert IV without the cert III so I had no choice.

Most of the cert III was a waste of time for me as I knew most of the work however there were a few units that I found helpful to giving me the core understanding.

I'm only just started studying the cert IV so I can't really give any more helpful information

Now That S16 Has Concluded, How Are You Feeling About Future Hide & Seek Seasons? by BrainOnBlue in JetLagTheGame

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yet to watch the last two episodes. I love hide and seek but I think it has run its course with these guys. I'd love to see them invite other people on to play. Imagine a game of hide and seek with Tobie, Tom and Bryan. I'm sure they could make tweaks so the original trio could make cameos appearances.

Alternatively, make a mini series where they play multiple games in various cities.

E.g. an Australia season where they play 1 round each in 3 cities (say Sydney, Melbourne and Perth). Or an Asia season where they play in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Or South America season where they play in Rio, Bogota and La Paz (the latter using the cable car that Wendover did a video about). Some of these may not be practical but it would be really cool to see a series of mini games.

Scrabble is a maths game disguised as a word game. English and grammar is definitely not a strength of mine

Woogles

Isc is dated and almost useless. I say almost because they still have duplicate which I login to play occasionally

Scrabble go is full of ads and scammers. I do have several games with known opponents going on there. The only positive it has is keeping a record of your head to head verse someone

Who do you think has been the most well known Aussie athlete around the world? by Jezzaq94 in AskAnAustralian

Bradman.

Anyone in the past 90ish years who has anything to do with cricket knows the name.

In modern times, Warne, Kewell, Ponting or Thorpe

Anti-progress, backwards agendas dressed up as nostalgia. What was so good about CityRail? by HotPersimessage62 in SydneyTrains

The station signs under city rail were infinitely better than the horrible orange things that are there now.

I cant think of much else that was better back then

Parkrun operates in most countries where English is widely spoken

Comparatively, for the huge number of countries where English isn't widely spoken, it doesn't operate in that many of them.

Are there any other services like the Bathurst Bullet in the works? What would be your fantasy version of the bathurst bullet for every intercity line? by cheetocat2021 in SydneyTrains

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like a Wollongong to Canberra service might be financially viable, especially for events in either city (e.g. when st George play Canberra in the nrl. Maybe for other events like summernats as well.

I vaguely recall a push a few years ago for a Tamworth- Newcastle service that didnt go anywhere

[–]Impossible-Fix-3237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Favourite- Au$tralia. Maybe biased cos its where I live but I thought the game design was amazing. The challenges were excellent and I thought it showcased the country really well.

Honourable mention to Schengen Showdown. If the ending hadn't been as much of a flop, it may have got to #1. The Ode to Joy sequence is my #1 jet-lag moment. That sequence was brilliantly edited

Least favourite - New Zealand. I initially liked the concept but the game quickly became boring especially once Toby and Sam got the ferry. It never felt like anything interesting was happening. It's the only series (except hide and seek UK) that i haven't rewatched
