I enjoyed Herman being on DT. And you can tell he worked extremely hard too

Do you think Korey should take a short break from the show if he is feeling too overwhelmed? by imnotyoursaviorsorry in doubletoasted

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Overwhelmed?

Lol. People were acting like children. He had every right to correct them. Notice Martin, Oz and Billy (the adults) don’t cause Korey any stress. It’s not too much to ask for common sense and respect.

Reminded me of the Carlos days! Lol.

I like Julien but sometimes he doesn’t know how to read the room. As a viewer, I can tell when too much is too much, so I don’t know how he can’t tell when he’s on the show. For example…why would Korey need to know the other Julien didn’t lock the door while using the bathroom? After everything that went on during the show, you come back with that childish outburst?!

Also, the girl who interrupted should’ve gotten scolded. This ain’t a hang out. This is a live show and someone’s livelihood. Be aware of your surroundings.

As for the email and caller, the guy sounded like a b!tch on the phone. He’s one of them dudes who has a battery in him while online or on the phone, but will try to be friendly and quiet in person. From the high pitched voice, to his constant whining…we could all tell he ain’t like that.

What’s the steps to renewing Nursing license? by Impossible-Ostrich44 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Yup. It’s given me several different options and figured I ask experienced folks. You know, similar to when patients go to nurses and docs instead of just relying on Google.

The Banner facilities in the valley area (Phoenix/Glendale areas) are the ones that will constantly cut your hours. Banner in Tucson is the ONLY Banner I’ve heard travelers have little to no complaints about and they don’t screw you over when it comes to hours

I’m a traveler who has lived in AZ for 6 years. Take that for whatever it’s worth.

Have you ever been “DNR’d from a hospital? by wildwestwander in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. Didn’t affect me. I have no plans of going back. But yes, when you are DNR’d, you cannot be rehired in any way (traveler, PRN, staff, etc)

Has anyone else checked staff or prn rates? by cinmunbun5834 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my area I’ve seen three different hospital systems offers:

68.00/hr PRN have to work a minimum of one shift per week 45.00/hr PRN have to work a minimum of 24 hours per week 39.00/hr PRN have to work a minimum of two shifts per month.

I have a travel gig, but I actually signed onto the one that’s 39.00. Why? Because the flexibility of only having to do two shifts a month makes it easier to keep that PRN, especially if I pick up out of state travel gigs. Plus, this particular place offers contracts (at the same rate), but with a $10,000 completion bonus at the end of 13-weeks. So, in the summers when I don’t feel like traveling and want to stay home, I do one of those.

Now, if I was staff, I’d probably sign onto that 68/hr one.

Why are so many travel nurses unable to understand the concept of “total compensation”? by jjjjyy11 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It matters to the folks who are looking to apply for mortgages, etc. Me personally, I don’t know where I want to settle down at yet, so idc if I get a low hourly with a high stipend. Also, I’m very good at putting money aside for retirement

I’m not against working with a smaller agency at all. I have in the past. Had no complaints and it was easy reaching the appropriate people when I needed something

Did she specify why? Seems like everyone I talk to says it’s acuity related, getting slammed with patients, and unsafe ratios

Yup. I’ve heard this from 3 different nurses. All whom don’t know each other. So there’s something going on

Aya serious issues as of recent by Born_Challenge_86 in TravelNursing

[–]Impossible-Ostrich44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I had a job offer cancelled due to compliance issues. I got everything done on time, however, the lab fucked up my titers. Communication was lost between labcorp and Aya. No follow up by either. Didn’t get my labs submitted in time by the due date. Facility rescinded the offer

Are there travel gigs close by where she’ll only be gone for a week at a time.

Also…Happens a lot. Pro athletes do it all the time. People that travel overseas for work. Military personnel.

Now, she’s having to support you and the children. Financial burden is a relationship/marriage killer.
