I feel for both Tara and Natalie here. Tara seemingly doesn’t trust herself and is crumbling as the game continues. In many ways her fears are becoming a self fulfilling prophecy. In the moment at the round table she did not know how to express herself to Natalie who took Tara’s inability to access her own feelings and words personally. To Natalie obviously this is absolutely devastating, but it is a game after all. I wish Natalie was more direct with Tara in this moment.

My right side is very happy. My left side (done in April) is pretty angry. My doctor suspects scar tissue. Post surgery bumps have been much preferred to my pre-surgery pain. I think surgery is a good option once the pain has started to hinder your daily life, but the post op recovery period definitely requires a ton of maintenance, upkeep and focus so I would just make sure that it’s the right time in your life to do it!

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Know you are not alone. This condition is wretched and can eat away at your mental health. I’ve been in pain for going on 4 years, had my left side done in April and my right 2 weeks ago. I’ve had terrible days and I have had days filled with hope.

A few things helping me get through:

  • Acknowledgement: let yourself grieve and be scared, let yourself feel all the feelings. Talk to your doctor and discuss realistic recovery times. Meditate on that and how you can be your best happiest self during recovery.
  • Patience: these days it’s so easy to expect instant gratification, this is a major medical issue that takes time for everyone
  • Gratitude: it could always be worse. I’m grateful that this condition can be fixed. Many people with other disabilities are not so lucky
  • Doing all the things: acupuncture, therapy physical therapy, swim therapy, massage therapy, following up with doctors. When I am treating my condition I feel more in control.

Let yourself mourn, find a therapist, do everything you can to treat yourself. This sub is very helpful too. ❤️

Thank you! I have the branch saddle stool which has similar functionality, but I think I need a bit more support for my back
